A self proclaimed know-it-all friend of mine seems to think OJ does the trick. I've told him several times that milk always works the best for me. I've tried bread that never seems to work.

If you have the intestinal fortitude, the best way is to drink a cup of pure warm water with a quarter to a half a teaspoon of the hottest cayenne(chili)powder three times a day. After about five days your body becomes acclimated to this regimen. You find that you can now eat any spicy food because the cayenne rebuilds the lining of your stomach to about the consistency of leather. Your cholesterol lowers 50 points in three days. If you have high blood pressure it lowers to normal, low blood pressure it raises to normal. You never get headaches of any kind because cayenne thins the blood to the consistency of ink. It helps heal bad joints, it also helps prevent prostate, colon and uterine cancers. It is nature's miracle herb. If you choose to use it you will not get as sick as other people or as often. It also gives you more energy than 5 or 6 cups of coffee. If you drink several bottles of pure water in between cups it flushes all the poisons and bad toxins that you have accumulated from your body. Good health to you always.

Hello:

The best way to cool down the burning sensation of spicy food is to drink milk QUICKLY,and also eat bread while you are drinking on the milk too! Orange juice isn't really a good idea, because it has acid in it and if your taste buds and stomach is already on fire, the acid in orange juice will only make it worse!

There is no better way to get rid of the hot than salt. If your enjoying the food and just need a cool down than I would say milk, but if you are on fire and need it to stop pour salt in your mouth and it will be gone. If you don't believe me, try it.

Capsacin (the stuff in most hot things that makes them hot) is fat soluable. Which means that it will dissolve in butters, oils etc. So it is adviseable to consume something that is either fatty itself such as milk with a fat content, or something that will absorb the fat, such as bread. The exceptions to this rule are wasabi and hot mustard. Water or juice works well to remove the burnof these foods.

Yogurt works best. Indian food is very spicy and as a result we always have yogurt with our meals. We actually have it as a drink for easy digestion. Take some plain yogurt and mix it was water in a glass and drink up.

usually dairy products are the best because they contain some enzyme that counteracts the heat. It doesn't need to be milk though, yogurt and cottage cheese work just as well.
