or any other 3rd world nation, was required to pay the same wages as where they was located before. Do you think that would move there? And if they did, and actually paid the wages, would it effect the immagration problem?

Very good question Tubal...No they wouldn't move there.Or if they did it would be for tax reasons or property value reasons.
secondly if they paid the same wages as here in the states no we wouldn't have the illegal immigration problems. They wouldn't have to leave for better pay then.Unfortunately this isn't the case.

They go there for the reason of low pay and also slacking of employee rights. Not to mention the environmental issues which make them relocate to countries with less restrictions.

We will never be able to compete when the object is how low can you go. People would work for 2 bucks an hour if you could survive in this economy on 2 bucks an hour. Problem is we can't. Countries are either going to have to be brought up to our level or they will drag us down to theirs. If we can't compete globally then they better address that issue because we don't have a shortage of people to work. The answer isn't to keep importing more people legal and illegal or moving out of this country for just cheap labor, less restrictions etc. while our cost of living keeps rising and our pay and jobs keeps dwindling.

Sure but who would obey it? Who would enforce it? Let’s look at a different approach. What if we removed payroll taxes? What if we dropped the corporate income tax to zero? The American corp tax has soared to 39.35% while Europe is lowering their’s to attract business. Look at Ireland at 12%.
Everyone should know by now that companies don’t really pay tax. They just pass it on to the consumer in prices.

No, don’t tax or penalize companies for leaving, make it attractive for them to stay. We need to adopt the Fair Tax Act H.R. 25 www.fairtax.org

By the way, minimum wages are nothing more than price controls in reverse.

Outsourcing of jobs can only be fixed here at home. The American worker needs to revisit their views and ideals for labor. We are being left behind in the global market. We need to compete with other countries.

Moving is mostly based on cost savings. Could be labor, but could also be materials transportation, local taxation, etc.

I don't know if it would effect the immigration problem, but it would sure as heck scramble the local economy a bit.

This would be a violation of both WTO and NAFTA regulations and would enable other countries to place tariffs on our goods, greatly hurting our economy. Not to mention, it wouldn't be enforceable. Companies could easily relocate and shut down their US operations entirely so that the US would have no jurisdiction.

You can't pass laws in other countries. Once they move there they are under that country's laws not US laws. The other countries will never pass your law because they want the companies to come there.

dont know but, to me, its seems the higher ups want us to keep debating about illegal immigration while they keep moving over more companies...they are staying under the radar while we tear each other apart.

look at the trucking situation, they knew they couldnt legalize the farmworkers so now the farmers are moving to Mexico to farm and now they have the truckers for distribution.

I suggest we take our heads out of our asses and start working towards a compromise and not scream "amnesty" any time someone wants to propose a solution.
