Believe it. You occasionally spot them in normal places, but to see them regularly go to their feeding and watering holes. (Expensive restuarants and bars in Malibu, Hollywood, Bev Hills etc) I saw Diana Ross at a Toys R US (followed by two big guys carrying packages), Whoopi Goldberg at Long's drugstore, Kid Rock at the airport and Elaine from Seinfeld at a grocery deli. This is over a span of years, however, not weeks.
There is a Starbucks in Santa monica where people spot celebs, but I don't know which one. A lot of celebrities like Patrick's Roadhouse, just off hwy 1 in Malibu.

Mmmm depend where you are ...if you are in Malibu, hollywood, Beverly Hills, once in a while in LAX,.... problably you could see any celebrity if you're lucky, BUT if you are in East Los Angeles, Huntington Park, Sur centro Los Angeles..... is more possible that someone hit you hard and you would see other kind of stars .....Trust me!!

Yes, but not often. I worked at Knott's Berry Farm with my now-husband. He met Courtney Cox, David Arquette, Patricia Arquette, and Nicholas Cage (when they were married back in the day). He got to escort them around the park onto the rides. I worked on Bigfoot Rapids where we had to shut down the whole line for Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown and their whole family and body guards. In LA, I saw a few famous people from the time, one was the guy who played the boyfriend of Blossom and Sabrina the Teenage Witch, my sister and I took a picture with him. He was scruffy and really laid back. My sister-in-law just saw Keifer Sutherland at LAX and she kept yelling it's "Jack Bauer." He just laughed and kept on walking. My husband and I saw Nicholas Cage and his woman (Asian woman) at the SkyBar at The Palms in Las Vegas. Exhibit was there too. It's not often enough to brag about it, unfortunately. Oh, my cousin went out with Seann William Scott before he was famous. She knew he was trying to be an actor but was superficial and didn't like that he didn't make a lot of money and that he was shorter than her. Big mistake on her part! We have pictures of them together too!

Yes, you are more likely to see celebrities in LA than in some little town in the middle of nowhere. I've run across several celebrities on airplanes and in airports.

Yes they are normal people who want to go out to restaurants, shops, etcs. I have seen several while I'm out in LA. Some want to be seen so they chose places that will give them good publicity! Like when I saw Jennifer Love Hewitt shopping on a Saturday afternoon in Beverly Hills.

They do go out shopping and to restaurants like anyone else but for some reason, you don't tend to spot them as much as people outside the area believe. You could walk right past one and not even realize it. However, you do happen upon them from time to time.

It depends on what celebrities and where you are looking for them. LA is a huge city with alot of people, and yes the celebrities are there...but so are about 10 million other people.

Not so much, no. Many have preferred hangouts, and if you know where they are (nightclubs, restaurants) you could hang out there, too.
That said, a lot of celebs do their own shopping, you could try a star sighting at Macy's.
My star sightings have been at concerts, on a train, and at political rallys.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure they just walk around like normal people. But i'm sure they have to wear some kind of cover up.

you can but you have to look real hard and then you most likely still won't see them. sometimes in a Starbucks maybe, look on West Sunset Blvd., also Beverly Hills restaurants or stores or the grocery there, not in Hollywood and not in tourist areas.
