I took the Greyhound bus in South Africa. The journey was supposed to be 10 hours. In a remote area the bus somehow caught on fire so were all evacuated and had to stand on the side of the road for 2 hours. When the Police and Fire Truck arrived, the Policeman drove into the side of the bus so had to wait another 4 hours in the desert for a replacement bus. I had no money on me and not many warm clothes. Luckily a good samaritan bought me a sandwich. Eventually got there cold and starving 24 hours later. No other journey has ever been that bad for me.

On an 8 hour bus journey, I suggestion there was a end midway via way of the region i might purchase a e book or a nespaper. comprehend that, i finished my handbook interior a pair hours, the bus did no longer end, and that i could now stay conscious. So... i began out analyzing the comparable e-e book returned. And the lavatory on the bus replaced into as quickly as undesirable.

On an 8 hour bus ride, I thought there was a stop halfway through where I could buy a book or a nespaper. Needless to say, I finished my book within a couple hours, the bus didn't stop, and I couldn't sleep. So... I started reading the same book again. And the bathroom on the bus was bad.

Fort Dix, New Jersey, to Fort Benning, Georgia.
First of all, I was suffering from a bad reaction to the flu shot I was given just hours before the bus left.
Second, one of the other soldiers had a cassette tape player and headphones. He was playing it so loud, the rest of us could hear it, and that wasn't the worst part. He listened to the same song over and over and over for the whole trip, rewinding each time it ended. The screech it made when he did that was painful, and he was the one with the headphones.

The early days of Megabus - it used a regular bus that was on a long distance service. It was the day after a festival so everyone took up 2 seats, one for themselves, one for their bags, so the only spare seat was at the very back of the top deck where it was hottest - I passed out with the heat.

when i was in High School i was in the academic club and we were taking a field trip from southern california to sacramento to see an orchestra, or listen to one or whatever. it was like maybe a 6 hr drive with no stops. the entire time we bounced up and down non stop very rapidly in our seats. all the guys on the bus couldnt stop laughing because of all the bouncing teenaged breasts they were surrounded by. when we finally got to the symphony all of us had upset stomachs and headaches. then we had to take the same bus all the way back home.

my car was in the garage, i needed to take the bus back from the supermarket, as i had decided to walk there.
i hadn't been on a bus for years and whilst i was on it, people getting on were just the dredge of society. drunkards, chavs, those looking for a fight with the driver. I'm sorry I'm not a snob and neither am i prejudiced but, it was not a nice experience that one time.

My GF told me i was dumped, (which i took badly) and then we had to sit together on a bus for 45 Min's, I cried (sorry not manly but i did) and another passenger asked if i was OK and i had to pretend to be fine, whilst inside my heart was breaking.

many years ago we were returning from a holiday in sunny Tenerife & our midnight flight home to Stanstead was cancelled (plane didn't take off from Aberdeen airport before it shut ?!?!) so they put us on a plane to Manchester .... next morning we arrived we were put on the oldest, crappy bus you've ever seen as Man Utd were playing in the FA Cup Final in London & all good coaches were booked - took 7 hours to get from Manchester to Stanstead via a scenic stopover at the Watford Gap Services ..... !!!!!!

for a few months when i was in high school i had to ride a junky, rattling old buss that was driven by an old kooky fellow whom always smelled of whisky. he had a nickname like "skeeter" and sometimes he drove very fast and would weave about. it kept me on edge and i was always poised to drop under the seat ahead of me. yeh, i remember now, an old sot called skeeter owens. i survived the drunk who drove the school bus from hell.
