They must learn to do it on people right? If so is it cheaper to do it there?

Ummm.....would NEVER suggest doing that. I know a lady who "saved" money by getting her dentures done at a school...and notwshe has rabbit teeth. She looked better the other way. Also, you are going to be wearing braces longer than the students will be in that school. I would rather have one person working on my teeth, rather than 20 different students who are just learning.

Yes.

I had braces, a tooth extraction, and six oral surgeries at a local dental college. Graduate orthodontic and graduate periodontic students and faculty provided my care.

The care was much less expensive than going to a private orthodontist or periodontist. Yes, students provide care, but these students are already dentists; they are doing graduate work to receive licensure in their specialty. They provide the care under the immediate supervision of faculty members. If there is any difficulty, the faculty member often takes over the procedure.

My braces lasted 2 years and cost $2900. My tooth extraction was $40. My gingival (gum) surgeries were $300 each. My care was excellent and a faculty member was always present to supervise. I am still receiving free followup care for my braces and my surgery, including free x-rays and retainers.

Hello,

There is no such thing as "an orthodontic school."
Orthodontics is a post-graduate program offered at dental schools. The prices for these is much more reasonable than Private orthodontists.
There is always a cost and this isn't free -- remember braces are luxury not a right or privilege.

Yes you can have your braces done at a dental school and it is cheaper than having it done by an orthodontist that is already out of school. My husband got his braces done at a dental school and his teeth look great.

YES ...you will be seen by a student ready for graduation and you will be their final exam and it is usually about 15 - 20 % percent cheaper...but the wait for an appointment is usually longer so act fast....

i wouldn't because it is just like going to a beauty salon training school to get your eyebrows waxed or you hair cut you may look in the mirror and you may not have any eyebrows or hair....just like the braces they might not even end up on your teeth
