well since she is 10 years old i would advice u not to try too many chemicals on her. it will spoil her skin completely.she has got tanned due to sun exposure during swimming. stop ur daughter from going out in sun too much. use a sun-screen with spf-30 on her face when she is goin out. eventually the tan will go away. it will take some time but ur daughter will regain her colour back. u can take her to a doc if u r really worried. trust me takin her to the doc will definitely help u. and pls don use lemon and stuff , cos lemon will make the skin very dry and her skin will become prone to diseases. keep her skin away from too many chemicals.

This may be dye to exposure to UV.

Her pigments have become hypersensitive to even back-ground UV.

If her skin that was covered by swim suite is still fair then it is a good indication that she will get lighter over many months, but she needs to cut out as much UV as possible.

Some food and medicine can cause this hypersensitivity also.

Hints:
Use an umbrella, very large black.
keep most of the body with black garment (dark colours).
There are lightening creams but some are photo sensitive must follow instruction, to the letter.
See a dermatologist, to get bleached.

There isn't anything I can think of to make it lighten. However, it will fade in time... in the meantime, make sure she puts on sunblock with a high SPF and make sure she stays out of the sun for extended periods of time. Unfortunately, with tint of skin that Indians usually have, it makes it very easy for it to tan darker in the sun. But plenty of sun block and more time out of the sun....

I had a very good friend in college who was from India and she always had that problem. She also strived to keep her skin pale, I on the other hand am as pale white as they come almost and at the time was striving for darker skin! We used to laugh and say if only we could trade! :)

There are cremes that you can purchases that will bleach the skin but I would not recommend them. As time and the sun has caused her to get dark, it will also cause her to fade back to her natural skin color if she stays out of the sun. Let time take care of the issue and use a good sunblock to prevent her from getting dark in the future if you so desire.

What bothers you about her color?

Are you afraid of potential skin conditions? If so, I wouldn't worry too much yet. She didn't burn, am I right? The lasting tan is a result of melotonin building up to protect her from damage.

Are you afraid that some one will confuse her of another race? So what if they do? You say your not rasict and I hope your not, but regardless of cercumstances, don't worry.

However, bleaching cream and/or lemon juice will bring the color out.

Dude, spending time outdoors will result in tanning.
No way around it.

I've just come back from 5 months in India, you guys have such lovely skin but sell more skin whiteners than anywhere else in the world. Here in Australia, people spend their cash on getting browner.

See how dumb all this is?

Just accept who you are, who she is, and you'll be happier.

Do not try to change the color of her skin, the main thing is to protect her from the sun with 30 spf or higher lotion, and reapply on a regular basis, if she likes to be outdoors.

she's fair may be one of her parents is fair. if this is so, then she'll certainly gain her original color back soon, when she's not swimming. chlorine in the water is responsible 4 this change. nothing 2 worry.....
