No, you should not be using any type of ointment on your tattoo, it doesnt need anything other than to be washed 3-4 times a day with an unscented soap, then patted dry. These creams are for infections or rashes, and to help heal scars... your body will heal on it's own, and your tattoo is a scar... don't put anything on it until it starts to heal and itch, then a mild, unscented lotion such as Lubriderm. I have 4 and this has worked for all of them and they are the instructions from 3 different artists.

NO! If you just got a tattoo, didn't you receive aftercare instructions from your artist?
A&D Ointment for first 4-5 days. After that use a fragrance free and color free lotion, such as Lubriderm.

Like they've said, A&D if you want to use a diaper rash cream type ointment. No neosporn or vaseline and my artist said an unscented white lotion. Ask a tattoo artist just to be sure!

You can, but I wouldn't advise it. The best thing to use is vitamin e on a tattoo to speed the healing process every time you shower. Neosporin might strip the ink out of the tattoo so I wouldn't advise it. I have 4 tattoos myself.

Do not use a lotion, cream or ointment that contains aloe or vitamin E on your new tattoo. These will be fine once it has healed but may lead to loss of color and longer healing times. Never use Vaseline or petroleum jelly on your new tattoo.

Do not use anything on a tatt. that's what my guy tells me, wash it 3 or 4 times daily with hot soapy water. that's it. ointments tend to draw out the ink. your body can heal itself.

Don't use ointment. Don't use Polysporin. Don't use alcohol.
Either use unscented lotion - like Lubriderm, or a saline solution.
