i ask because most religions have borrowed from the religions that came before them. so most of the storys have been recycled.

Can you give me an example of any truly human experience that is original in your life? I mean you are alive. You are deffinately a educated person (read and write).
You live in the 21 st century. What ORIGINAL thing has ever happened to you that has not ever happened to anyone else in recorded history. I mean I do not want you borrowing a story from historical documents, an older sibling, a parent or grandparent... just one of your own original stories.
Something tells me the moment you post your answer at least a hundred people will claim it already happened to them... whether it did or not.
Once a reality is out there in the world for others to evaluate humans will compare it to other experiences. We (humans) look for meaning or resemblence in each other... in numerology, weather, health issues... You name it. That is part of us building our intelligence.
I see little brother crawling, a light dawns, I must have crawled too. Even though I may not remember that period in my life I will ascertain that I did indeed CRAWL FIRST! When in reality I have no basis for that so called bit of knowledge because I do not remember it ever happening.
Isn't there a famous statement... you are unique, just like everybody else. Since religion by deffinition is a human experience... Would not all religions be equally unique?
By the way I am a Christian. And the only thing I worry about is that I am following Christ. (It does not bother me in the least that I am behind or in front of another human being in this concept, the more the merrier!)

In ALL religions God ONLY asked to be worshipped alone.
However it is religions such as Christianity Islam and Judaism that it is people or prophets that say HOW to worship him.
WHy do people and organization ruin the simplicity of ONLY being asked to be worshipped. This is why I hate organized religion because God is left out of it and bells and whistles are made a big deal of.

maybe God actually gave each religious group contradicting information on purpose - and God wants us to use our common sense and conscious to work together, find out what is just nonsense and .....
as for religions -- they die when knowledge is obtained..
think of how many religions were discarded that based their theology on the earth being the centre of the universe, or that it was flat..
