about the feelings of those who lost loved ones in that same incident? I mean, when you say God went out of His way to save you, aren't you saying He didn't give a damn about the ones He didn't save? I think it's kind of egotistical to imagine that you are so special to God that He went out of His way to save precious little 'ol you, but He couldn't be bothered to save anyone else! Isn't that offensive?

Yes I think it would be. That is why it is wise to consider what you say, and who is listening, when you say it.

In any circumstance.

What makes you think being "saved" from death is a good thing?

Lets suppose you are given three choices. One, live in a penthouse. Two, live in a 1500 sqft ranch in a moderate neighborhood. Three, live in a ghetto.

Sure, some people will choose the ghetto, and some the ranch house.

Others will choose the penthouse.

Me, I will let God decide where I live and what I am doing and I will thank God for giving me the opportunity to do what God wants me to do.

Funny that a lot of people I know understand that concept.

God has a plan for everybody. The people who died are most likely with God in heaven. So, its not that he didn't give a damn about them. He just had a different plan for them. Also, God doesn't have to go out of his way to do anything. His way is the only way there is. Everybody should thank him everyday just for being alive and for accepting those who have passed on into heaven.

sometimes people find it hard to beleive that they made it out of a bad situation and they think that they were saved for a reason. no one really knows if there is or isnt a god, but at least it makes some people feel better thinking there is. it is wrong to think though that they were saved because their lives were worth more then others.

God has reasons for doing what He does, He always has a reason. You also have to understand that death to God doesn't mean the same thing it does to us. He saves certain people and He has good reasons for doing so. Some of those people see the light and repent.

That's what I believe.

When your "number" is up, thats it.

Do you think the survivors of the twin towers were ALL Christian?

We are ALL special to God.

Who amongst us feels He is special?

What about those that perished? None of them believed in God?
That is a little egotistical to think that only "non-believers" persish.

I am so sorry that you lost someone in this similar incident. The only righteousness in Christians is the righteousness of Christ. The Bible teaches that no one can take the righteous out of the hand of God, but God doesn't miraculously save everyone. I have always said the very good die young, because Christ takes them to keep them from the evil of this world. We cover our children in prayer, trusting God to take care of them for us. And when we see that He did, we are most thankful to God for this. God tells us that no weapon formed against us will prosper. It is a wonderful thing to belong to the Living God.

Christians are special to God and they are the children of God. God called us to Him and we came and surrendered our life to Him. What loving father wouldn't protect his children in miraculous ways if he could? We all need the protection of God. Have you rejected God? We can see our lost loved ones again, but we need to surrender our lives to our Creator. He promises us so many things when we belong to Him. The loss of a child must be unbearable, but it is wonderful knowing that child is in the arms of God and that we can see them one day again. We are all special to God and He created us all different and unique. He does warn us about bitterness and the curses of bitterness that come by way of diseases. You are bitter toward God. God cared very much for the one that you lost and God took him for a reason.
It is hard to understand but God works everything for our good. Make peace with the Lord and tell Him that you need to understand. Bitterness will take you before your time and it will push everyone else away. Peace with God. Peace with ourselves and peace with others is the only life worth living. If I said anything to offend or hurt, I am very sorry. I want you to enjoy your life and remove the bitterness. God said not even a sparrow falls to the ground without Him knowing. Your precious lost one is more valuable than a sparrow to God. We are made in God's image and He calls us children. He created the one that you lost with special care so that you would love them very much. And you did, but let God take care of them now and you begin to live again. God feels your hurt and let Him mend your broken heart.

For some, God calls them and they will not come. Others whom he calls will come, and the rest have to be woken up to come to God. If God sees that one will come, but is asleep he will wake them up before it is too late. The one who will not come to God is considered dead to him, and is cut off from the kingdom, and is no more needing God who grants life. So God has no will to keep him/her safe from what he would save someone who he will use that is usable. This is just my opinion.

How about we make this a little easier and just skip to the part when I say there is no god, for many obvious reasons. I don't think its that ridiculous to say it was coincidence that you survived and the other person died.

regardless of religion, people are inconsiderate... however if it was a serious throwdown like that and you were the only one to survive, i think people would forgive you for saying things like that

That is absolutely morbid...though it is an excellent point that once again shows how many religious beliefs are self-centered in nature.
