Use brace wax you can ask your dentist pharmacist about it, it will basically sheild your gums from the metal in your braces but it will take a day or two to get used to.

Well, part of the issue could be that you are biting too much on your lip and has nothing to do with your braces. I've never had braces and because of the amount of time I put in practicing, I developed a callous (sp?) on the inside of my lip. Some people bite so hard they actually puncture the skin and bleed. Most of the time if you just continue, the callous will build and it won't hurt.

The secret is is brace wax. Don't give up playing for this reason. Wax is cheap and use this especially when playing.
