No actually Catholics are not the original church.... or well Catholics did not originate from what Jesus taught. You see Christian congregations existed before catholics, but they were burned, murdered, tortured, and crushed. Then the bible was changed to latin so the Catholics could rule the world. Anyone that wanted to follow what the bible really said was tortured and killed like the real Christians before them. So if you want all Christians to follow a denomination, you would have to go through a lot of history.

well you need to dig a little deeper if that is your conclusion the catholic church is not the original one the original one was started by Jesus and his apostles as m was called the way or simple Christianity the catholic church did not even get started for almost 300 years later long after Jesus death and resurection and over 200 years after the death of the last Apostle John and it was started by emperor Constantine about 325 A.D. these are historical facts and as to why there are so many n bgecauser people have deviated from the teachings of Jesus in the Bible some prefer to follow man made rules and traditions

I'm chistian but i'm non-denomination. But Catholicism is a denomination:
A religious denomination (also simply denomination) is a subgroup within a religion that operates under a common name, tradition, and identity.

The term is frequently used to describe various Christian denominations (for example, Eastern Orthodox, Catholicism, and the many varieties of Protestantism or Restorationism). It is also used to describe the four branches of Judaism (Orthodox, Conservative, Reform and Reconstructionist), and (less often, though it would not be inappropriate) to describe the two main branches of Islam (Sunni and Shia).

In Hinduism the major deity or philosophical belief functions as the identifier of a denomination and typically each has distinct cultural and religious practices. The major denominations include Shaivism, Shaktism, Vaishnavism, Smartism, and Halumatha.

I also did some research and this is what i found...

if you'd done a little MORE research, you'd see that Christ did not set up the catholic church, or any other denomination, for that matter...or are you just shilling for the pope? in Christ's time, there was an elaborate system of temples, rituals, priests in splendid robes... it was necessary to obey the authority of these priests, and only they could approach the 'holy of holies"...when Christ died, the temple was shaken , and the veil of the temple was torn from top to bottom, signaling that God had removed the barrier between Himself and His people...no longer do people need to go thru priests or any other 'intermediaries'...Christ's church is simply the worldwide 'body' of those who have decided to follow Him-regardless of denomination

Christians would rather remain Christians with the knowledge of our Redeemer and Savior who paid for our sins on the cross so we can spend eternity with Him.

Remain a Catholic if you like, but that isn't the "true church," dear one. The TRUE CHURCH is the Body of Christ (Believers). It doesn't entail a denomination or building.

Why can't all Catholics just become Christians???
Its supposed to be the same thing? If it is just a denomination, then it wouldn't matter!

How could the RCC be the original church? The first century church did not have statues in their churches, they did not bow down in front of statues (it's forbidden in the 10 commandments), they did not sprinkle babies and call it baptism, and there was no Pope in the first century. They also knew nothing of any Trinity - it was made up later.

Because they are all in protest of the Church created by Christ and His disciples. The world continues to hate that which is of God. Nevertheless, Jesus' last prayer is that we all be one in the enduring Church He created.

The Catholic church, in my opinion, follows traditions of men, not the bible. I go to a bible teaching church and I prefer that, that's why.
