what are some things that a 14 year old girl ((freshman)) can do for community service? i really want to get into national honor society...and eventually a good college...so yeah...what are some things that i could do for community service? i really like animals, and little kids, and old people (they're cute)! so yeah...i'll pretty much do anything. i love the feeling you get when you know that you're helping some one else who is less fortunate than you. so...what can i do?

There are lots of opportunities. We were required to do one hundred hours in hour high school and all i did was work at a school for a few hours a day. You can also volunteer at a library or any government funded places. They'll let you in. Try the zoo.

Do you want to put a smile on some Heroes faces? Go to your local Veterans hospital and visit the elderly veterans there. Go to www.va.gov to find the closest one. I guaruntee you if you sit down and talk to some of these men and women they will tell you stories that will have you craving more. They are a part of history and at the same time you can do some good by giving them the company of someone to talk to.

The teens who help at my Dad's nursing home are really a breath of fresh air. They dish up icecream at the icecream shop, refresh the water glasses for the patients, read mail, write letters. It's really nice to see a young face, smiling.

Visit your local SPCA, Elderly Homes, and Pre-schools, and ask if they offer volunteer programs. Good for you for wanting to make a difference. Don't give up, you'll find some where to volunteer.
