arent gays just going to hell period? Many religious people say that its not being gay that makes them a sinner, but acting on that sin is what makes them a sinner. But lying to the world and saying they arent gay, and living a heterosexual life is just as bad isnt it? Considering all sins are bad in the eyes of god, why would practicing homosexuality, but lying about being gay but not practicing it be any better? This is what many christians, religious, and polical leaders have told homosexuals they should do, not practice it, but lead hetero lives...but that means they are lying. So, people who are gay, are going to hell period, there is just no way out is there?

Sin is a deliberate choice to defy the nature of the Creator, which is Love. God's only law is Love. Loving actions bring you closer to the Creator and fearful and hateful actions remove you further from Him. This is the one and only universal truth.
Two people who share a loving relationship are closer to God than other people who hate them for it. This is true regardless of all other conditions and considerations.
Your definition of sin is an arbitrary list of rules made by human minds according to the conventions of society, which change from time to time and place to place.

Being gay, practicing homosexuality, lying about it and so on is NOT going to send you to Hell. Let's clear that up. Perhaps the most well known verse in the Bible proves that: John 3:16 For God so loved the world that whosoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life. So if you believe, congrats, you've done the heavy lifting and you're not going to hell. But to grow in your relationship with and understanding of God you'll have to turn away from your sins and live a life worthy of his Love. The Bible is where the useful instructions for that is.
Another thing, heterosexual promiscuity is just as bad a sin; so being heterosexual doesn't necessarily mean living without sexual sin. Sin isn't compartmentalized. It's all the same. Lying, stealing, Conceit, Malice, Fornication; thoughts and actions against the Love of God are sins.

Lying is an action isn't it? Even if you don't make an action out of it, by just denying something that is true you are purposely choosing to do something that is wrong or dishonest.
Being gay is not a sin. Two men or two women having sex together, however, is a sin. Just like a man and a woman who are not married but have sex together is a sin. Just like eating too much cake, speeding in your car, making an obscene gesture to the driver who cuts you off, taking a paper clip from your classroom home and keeping it. All those are sins. All sins are equal in God's eyes. Sin is evil.
However, thanks be to God that he has provided a remedy for our sin: Jesus, who takes away the sin of the world. So those who commit sin can be cleaned from the effects of sin and can try to live a better life and can have a relationship with their loving God.

Well, one obvious point is that choosing not to participate in homosexual activity doesn't necessarily mean that the person has to lie about it. I know a few Christian people who openly admit that they struggle with homosexual desires but that they have chosen to obey God's instructions and abstain from acting on those desires...doesn't sound like lying to me.
Any Christian that suggests that homosexuality (or any other sin) is "unforgivable" by God is denying the very foundation of the message of Christ...that ALL have sinned and that God's grace is sufficient to cover ALL sins!
We all have our "crosses" to bear...are homosexual desires really any different from heterosexual ones...God's instructions are pretty clear that all of us need to control our sexual desires...if we don't, the only difference between homesexual and heterosexual behavior is the nature and extent of the physical and psychological consequences...spiritually, sin is sin!

First, that isn't any longer being gay that sends somebody to hell, it particularly is being a sinner. And wager what, we are all sinners, each final one individuals. The question isn't "how am i able to avert being sent to hell?" it particularly is "how am i able to be saved from being sent to hell?" additionally, you're suggesting that the only 2 innovations in existence for a gay man or woman are a million)be gay 2)pretend a right now relationship. yet at the beginning, in spite of what human beings say in the present day, intercourse isn't a mandatory component to existence. many human beings throughout the time of historic past have long undergone their lives single and remained completely content. and then, homosexuality is a sexual perversion of the innovations, often brought about by some journey in infants that perverts the traditional sexual expertise. there are various people who have been gay, yet by counseling have controlled to stay completely happy, heterosexual life and raise a kin. if reality be recommended, homosexuals are no longer born gay. If that have been so, then it may advise that baby molesters, rapists, and practitioners of another sexual crime or perversion have been additionally born that way.

Because of Adam and Eve's disobedience, we all inherited the sin nature. We are all sinners. Any of us can be homosexuals, murders, fornicators, thieves, adulterers, gossipers, addicts, gluttons or liars. Probably even more than one of those. We all posses this sin nature, which causes us all to be born separated from God and do the things that He has told us not to do..
Jesus came to the earth for the purpose of becoming the blood sacrifice for the forgiveness of our sins. Those of us who will choose Him as our Lord and Savior and repent (which means to turn away from sin), will be given the free gift of forgiveness and eternal life with God. When we choose Jesus, God declares us blameless. This is called justification (just as if I’d never sinned) .
God doesn't want anyone to be lost. He loves us so much even though we are born sinners. He has provided Jesus’ sacrifice for us while we are still sinners.
Not choosing Jesus is the only way that we remain separated from God. After choosing Jesus as our Lord and Savior, It is then, our job to stay filled with the Holy Spirit that He has given to Christians (those who have accepted Jesus) for the help we need to obey Him.
God sanctifies us which means He makes us holy. Sanctification is living every day in light of who we are in Christ. It is practiced purity- a challenge, especially in the culture in which we live.
Prayer, submitting and obedience is what God has ask us to do for our benefit.
Turning our backs on sin and coming to Jesus for love, leadership and forgiveness is the way to have a better life here, a renewed relationship with God and the promise of Heaven. The only way.

Everyone is a sinner. Jesus died to wipe those sins away. If a homosexual repents for their sins, they should be wiped away and stray from their previous life. Including homosexuality. If someone calls to God with complete trust and faith, and with honestly that those sins are gone and that they never want to be that way again and that they will follow God's path, you can be sure those people will never be gay again. Jesus saves, including gays. It's not like they're locked up.

This subject is so sensitive in the eyes of christians. I did not see many answers from other religions.
Homosexuality, as is heterosexuality, a private metter for a person and I don't see any need for either practice to be regarded as "sin".
There are much worse behaviours by heterosexuals in the abuse of children and acts of rape, as a prerogative in the spoils of victory in wartime.

It's more like not going from homosexual activity to straight sexual activity, but by becoming straight mentally, emotionally and physically without sexual involvement. A homosexual can only be changed through his own free choice to decide that God's design for all people is right, and brings true happiness. Homosexuality is a sin. And, as sure as a liar can become honest, so can the homosexual be freed by Jesus. So u don't have to lie.

Sin is sin. If u lie or murder someone it has the same degree. Nobody is perfect and EVERYBODY sins. The only way to go to heaven is through jesus Jesus said: “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6)
Romans 10:9, "that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." Because of Jesus' death on our behalf, all we have to do is believe in Him, trusting His death as the payment for our sins - and we will be saved!

The Bible didn't say that gay people go to hell, but those who practice the unforgivable act of sodomy.
EDIT:
Thanks for copying and pasting the meaning of sodomy from dictionary.com genius.
And it includes there that "copulation with the member of the same sex" is Sodomy like I first said. Besides I did not argue from in any point in time, that oral or anal sex was not Sodomy. It was Implied that sodomy IS A SIN no matter what your gender is. Now if you can't understand that then I suppose you need to stop trying to put yourself as a representative of the homosexual community in yahoo answers if you yourself is too obsessed with your own insecurities thinking that everyone who comments against you is homophobic.
