Call your employer or where you worked. They have to have copies, or they can reproduce them. They do need to have this information on file for everyone they employed for the last five years. IRS requires this of all tax payers. By the way, don't you keep copies of your own tax returns?

www.irs.gov, download form 4506, Request for Transcript, and the form gives you a fax number to fax your request to. It also gives you the option to have it sent somewhere else other than your address. Financial Aid office accept this form, Financial aid wants to see how much you earn, the Transcipt is a line by line information of what you put on your income tax return. On this form you can also request the W2/1099 information.
The return transcript is usually provided within 10 days of IRS received date.

Wait by the mailbox for it. They have until Jan 31st to get it in the mail and the IRS doesn't consider it late until Feb 15th. If you moved and didn't notify them of your new address, hopefully you put in a change of address with the Post Office so that it will be forwarded to you.

I know that when you file on a service like turbotax.com or taxact.com you can sometimes bring up your records while you're filing if you worked for a major company that's on their list. You may try that. Taxact.com is free by the way.

You can call IRS and request an information returnstranscript. It can be faxed or mailed to you. If you don't have access to fax machine log on to eFax and it will give you limited fax receiving for free.

The fastest way is to pull your copy from your records, where they SHOULD be. Lacking that, your tax preparer would be the next best stop if you hired the job out. After that your employer(s) are the next stop.
