To change your attitude, you must change your heart.
But this is impossible to do, without the help of God.
When we open our hearts to God, through his son, Jesus Christ..he will take our hearts of stone..and replace it with a heart of flesh. He changes us so completely..we are new.
That's what it means to be "born again". He also gives us his peace. Jesus said, My peace I give unto you...not as the world gives...give I unto you.
Everything you are looking for, can be found in Jesus.

You must remember that you are a spirit having a human experience, and not a human grasping for a spiritual experience. Life cannot change but the ideas about Life are always changing. Peace is your true nature but the mind colors all experiences with it's need to interpret and analyze. Keep vigilant watch over the thoughts in the mind and after some practice you will notice the mind getting quiet on it's own. Focus all your awareness on the breath and notice that the mind becomes Still. BE STILL and KNOW I AM GOD. Love with the mind and think with the heart! Peace Be With You!

Whenever I am feeling poorly, I remind myself of all those people who have life threatening illnesses and would love to just have a headache, or a bit of IBS etc.
Regarding the inner child - why bother trying to find them - look forward. Remembering things when you were a child is often futile - your memories are based on a child's view but you are now an adult. Move on and look forward. I didn't have a great childhood but I always think that there is ALWAYS someone who is worse off than you.

the simplest way is to start looking at every thought you have. are you telling yourself a lot of negative things constantly? if you notice that then you need to stop. but that's a lot harder than it sounds.
you should take a look at the events in your life and look at how you responded to them and try to figure out why you responded in that way. it's possible that some of your pain comes from a misunderstanding of a person or situation or even a percieved slight that wasn't meant as one.
i hope you find your inner peace, but it isn't an easy thing to find.

Read the bible. I've been through a lot and i didn't know where else to turn. I thought everyone in the world was trying to get me and i really hated the person that i had become.
I used to be such a happy person but after bad things happened to me i felt bitter and sad all the time.
One day i just picked up my bible and started reading. I learnt that there are a lot of people out there that had it even harder then me and i stopped being so mad at the world and excepted my life.

I have, though not all the time. I do not have the gift of healing as some do, but I have done some faith healing on myself and on my wife and sons. It's inconsistent enough that anyone who would like to believe it's just psychosomatic could probably make that conclusion if they wanted. Wouldn't bother me, though because I know that prayers have worked and that's all that matters.

My particular path has started with the physical. I studied Tai Chi and then moved into more spiritual directions.
I think any spiritual journey should be balanced out with physical exercise of some kind. Apart from Tai Chi, you could try Yoga, Alexander Technique or other martial arts.
Good luck.

Try Unity Church. It works on all of that stuff. Sure worked for me. Unity embraces all faiths. You need to be with like minded people and absorb spirituality kind of by osmosis rather than reading 73 books, taking yoga classes, etc., etc.,
That will make it fun. And yes, healing does happen and it takes many forms. I have had bona fide miracles and this is not B.S.

Meditation... and acceptance of what is and what has been. You can't change the past, but the future isn't written yet, so don't worry about yesterday, try to make tomorrow better than today.
