It will also display unscrambled HD channels from your cable co. Most local ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX and PBS HD are unscrambled. I don't use a HD cable box from my cable co. and I get those stations in HD. This is info. that the cable co. usually denies but you should try it first before getting a box. Unless you also want to get Discovery HD, ESPN HD etc. then you will need to get the HD box.

As for using it as a PC monitor the TV has to have a RGB imput. Check that it has one before purchasing it.

Yes that means it is cable ready. However, you will only get the unscrambled channels.

As for being able to use it as a PC monitor, that depends on the inputs you have on the TV as well as the outputs on your computer.

Terrestial HDTV courses perhaps chanced on on your cable provider despite the fact that if in maximum situations basically a million of them consistent with channel would be chanced on on your cable To recieve all the channels you will want a seperate antenna to recieve them assume your nearby channel 6 has a HDTV version on channel thirteen Your cable business enterprise could have NTSC 6 on 6 and HDTV 6-a million on 106 Your ATSC tuner would desire to recieve 6-a million 6-2 6-3 etc (on channel thirteen) you do no longer want a cable card for cable reception you want a cable card for digital cable reception and Pay activities verify the back of your liquid crystal show television or proprietors instruction manual for a Cable Card slot in case you have one verify alongside with your cable business enterprise no longer ALL use the enjoying cards yet.
