It is located in Boone, NC, yes named after Daniel Boone.
It in the Western mountains of NC on the Blueridge Parkway and is one of the prettiest areas in the USA. There are numerous small ski slopes open in area in winter and during the summer and fall when the leaves change color the Boone region is a tremedously popular tourist area.
