I'm planning on losing about 25 lbs. over the course of about 3 months, give or take a few days. I'm completely dedicated to whatever it takes, exercising, etc. I just need tips on the absolute best foods to eat while I diet to lose weight the most efficiently. I know all that stuff about fiber, etc. I just need the actual names of the best foods for me to eat up to 1000-1200 calories a day. I know, I know, I should be getting at least 1200 blah blah and it's not healthy for only 1000 colories or your body thinks you're starving it-- tell me something I don't know: what are the absolute best foods for a diet to lose about 10 pounds each month.

Various studies have shown that a high fiber - low fat diet is the best for weight loss. To simplify it, a vegetarian diet. Almost all plant based foods are high fiber and low fat, while animal foods are higher in fat and NO fiber. (Muscle fibers of an animal do not count as dietary fiber.)

If it grown out of the dirt and does not move on its own or have a mother, then you can eat it, but avoid highly processed foods such as white bread, rice and pasta. Also avoid everything that came from or that was part of an animal.

I know you want a list of particular items, but it will be better to get a variety so that you avoid becoming nutritionally unbalanced. Most people will say that you must get your proteins from an animal, but all plant foods contain at least a little bit of protein, and the body can make its own protein from the amino acids in fruits, vegetables, grains and nuts.

A couple of other things. Do not snack between regular meals. Do not drink sodas, sports drinks or fruit juices, these are the source of the greatest number of empty calories and are associated with weight gain. Do not use diet sodas, they also cuntribute to weight gain. Drink only water between your meals (about 3 quarts a day), but not with your meals; this will slow your digestion. And eat two meals a day - breakfast and lunch.

The people that come to the facility where I work lose an average of 4 pounds a week. The weight loss is faster when you also exercise regularly.

This really works for the patients that I work with, and it is the way I live.

With every day pass, our country is getting into more and more trouble. The inflation, unemployment and falling value of dollar are the main concern for our Government but authorities are just sleeping, they don’t want to face the fact. Media is also involve in it, they are force to stop showing the real economic situation to the people. I start getting more concern about my future as well as my family after watching the response of our Government for the people that affected by hurricane Katrina.

According to recent studies made by World Bank, the coming crisis will be far worse than initially predicted. So if you're already preparing for the crisis (or haven't started yet) make sure you watch this video at http://www.familysurvival.tv and discover the 4 BIG issues you'll have to deal with when the crisis hits, and how to solve them fast (before the disaster strikes your town!) without spending $1,000s on overrated items and useless survival books.

well I started on a fruit and vegie mega diet, but for a different reason, it is called the dash diet, dietary approach to stop hypertension. by eating alot of vegies and fruits I find I eat less of everything else, I still eat say hamburger, but I end up eating less of it because I desire less of it, if you know what I mean. I still drink my milk, but i find it takes less overall, I ended up losing all interest in the fattier meats, and this is not because of willpower, my body is making me do it.

by giving my body what it needs it doesn't need as much of all the other stuff. 1200 caloires is a number touted alot but I haven't figured out why? I mean 1200 caloires might be good (and I say maybe) for say someone who eats 1500 calories normally to maintain their fat/muscle body. And thus they decrease a little to lose some weight, maybe their bodies won't go into famine mode. but chances are 1500 is still to low for most people. That is the amount a comatose person needs to just stay alive let alone be healthy and fit.

but what if your body's maintenance dose is 3000? 1200 for someone like that is such a drastic drop the body is bound to interpret that as a food supply emergency. so this person would go into the famine feast cycle big time.

so if you want to stay healthy, do not count fruit and vegies in the caloire calculator, it is just not healthy to limit these foods. whole grains and brown rices and leaner meats too to satisfy your bodys cravings for protein, vita minerals found only in meat and to get more caloires bang for the buck. And you still need fat, at least 30 percent especially those found in nuts fish and seeds.

I don't recommend you eat 1200 I recommend more like 1500-1800. As for how much to lose each month, your playing a guessing game as it depends on your body's response to the diet, exercise, whether it slows your metabolism, your genetics etc.

by the way when you diet to lose weight the scale may go down but the fat may not go down as much. you lose water and glycogen stores and muscles when dieting. and muscles and water is heavy and less bulky.

I recommend you read the book how to be naturally thin by eating more by jean antenello, and break out of food jail by same author and bodyfueling by robyn landis. this should get you started.

by the way this dash diet really did bring down my pressures more than I thought. I can use less medication then before to get my healthier numbers. I feel more energetic, I sleep better etc, but remember I am not dieting, it is just fruits and vegies are supposed to be so healthy. I do feel lighter, but probably due to less water retention.

Eat goats cheese as an alternative to regular cheese. It contains 40 percent fewer calories than the cheese made out of cow’s milk.

Think about what you can to your diet, not what we must take away. Integrate yummy veggies into your meal, rather than serving them quietly. Not only will they offset the fat with your chicken or meat, but the phytochemicals in fresh produce are proven to prevent diseases.

Suck the idea in. Consciously hold in and contract your stomach muscles while you’re walking, sitting your desk or making the an evening meal. This will help to strengthen your ab muscles and your core, and create for you one step closer to the flatter stomach.
