My neighbor & friend's condo is going to be auctioned off, is it okay for him to take stackable washer/dryer?
He said he needs it and will be taking the washer/dryer that came with the unit when he bought it 2 1/2 years ago,(brand new condo, came with washer dryer) he said it'll compensate some for his big expense putting hardwood floors, is this true and okay?

It's his washer and dryer. If he owned the condo he can take anything he wants to out of it. Even though it came with the unit when he bought it, that was probably because the previous owner or builder included it as a perk. He's just simply decided that he's not going to do the same. It's like saying he can't take his fridge or stove either, or his bed. If it were a rental it would be a different story though.

Legally it may be OK. Normally things which are not a part of the condo itself are considered to be personal property. So when he bought the property he bought it with stove, refrigerator, washer/dryer. These would be considered personal property items. The floor he put in would become a part of the condo and would be sold with the condo. However, where he could get in trouble is how the contract to finance the condo purchase was written. If that contract states the personal property items were part of the purchase price being financed, then it would be illegal for him to remove them. I am sure the people who financed his condo know what is their property and what is his property. So he better be sure before he takes anything out or he could be in legal trouble, as well as, financial trouble.

In maximum factors, the washer and dryer are seen to be very own property and don't flow with the actual property. purely take it till now the often used public sale. make particular each thing it is interior the condominium whilst it is bought, remains there.

usually those things are not considered part of the condo. if he actually owned the condo then he can probably take stuff and get away with it. he could probably also take his wooden floors too.

It's not his to take, so, no. It's larceny. But he just may get away with it if the condo association doesn't decide to go after him.

I think not.

I think your neighbor has a pretty good bead on rationalization for stealing.
