I'm in Spanish 2 right now and I can't remember any new words that we learn. I've tried writing them 3 times each with their English definition but that does almost nothing. Does anyone have any tips?

My recommendation is not to translate the words you are learning when the teacher is providing you with the words. Don't write for example: pluma = feather, instead try drawing a picture right beside the word in Spanish The problem with translating is that a word in Spanish can have many other definitions depending on the context. For example "pluma" in Spanish could also be "pen". Therefore it is better to have images rather than translations related to the new words you are learning. This will work even better if you are a visual learner.

Speak, speak, speak and speak. That is the only way you will remember. You can write, read, listen, conjugate every verb in the whole world, etc. but you will not get good or remember much if you don't speak. That goes for any language. The more you speak, the more you start to think in that language and it will become easier to remember words. Join a Spanish speaking group or club. Good Luck.

Start using them in sentences. Make flash cards.
Try making up nonsense syllables to go with
each word.
For example:
pájaro = bird
Pa says "har"? Oh, that's for the birds!
Good luck!
