I know that it's difficult.
I like guns.
I like meat.
I don't care about the ethics of whether the animal suffers or not. We are after all, killing it, so let's not nitpick.
As a hunter and gamesman, shouldn't we use our natural strengths and skills just as the animal is using it's own natural abilities.
I think using a bow accomplishes that. Use a bow you coward chicken **** rifle hunters.

you are not using your natural strength when sending a bullet to make the kill. basically, you're pushing a button.
it's like riding a bike and riding a motorcycle.

Now I know why I have never came to this category on Y/A. As an avid upland game/waterfowl and big game hunter, I have never seen such childish words coming from..... "I guess" responsible hunting enthusiasts. Some of the answers leave alot to be desired....As does the question being asked! You people sound like the Hatfield's and the McCoys..lol. Everybody seems to want to get "one" up on the other and nobody really wins in the end. Oh well, have at it, I'll take my hunting knowledge elsewhere!

I question your credibility and sincerity and knowledge of the Sport of Hunting.* I do think you have never hunted a day in your life.*A true Sportsman, Hunter, Conservationist, Shooter, Plinker, Target Shooter would never conduct themselves as you have done on here by your comments regarding Hunting with a Rifle or Bow & Arrow. Your ignorant and irresponsible behavior has given you away as a perverse pest to pester legitimate Hunters & Sportsman. In this you have succeeded by your unprofessional and inexperienced conduct.* Nice try.*

I don't care what a person hunts with. I've seen a lot of idiot bow hunters and firearm hunters in my days. It bugs me seeing a gut shot or limb shot critter and having to harvest someone else's screw up. Then having to cut out absessed meat.

If you are going to bow hunt, be proficient in stalking, shooting and knowing the limit of your effective range. If your effective range is 20-30 yards, don't take the 40 yard shot if your uncomfortable.

If you are comfortable with a rifle, you should shoot with a rifle, if your good with a bow, it's your choice.. Telling me what I can or can't use infuriates me. Has nothing to do with be a chicken sh*t.. BTW you are picking nits.

Get a life.
Ever heard the expression:
"United we stand, Divided we fall"?
Perhaps you should apply that bit of wisdom to hunting,
- if indeed you actually are a hunter.
If you won't stand up for gun hunters rights,
why would you ever expect them to support your bowhunting rights, either?
Did you know "Uncle Ted", hunts with firearms as well as a bow? Did you know he has a firearms collection and machinegun collection worthy of a museum?
I personally do not believe you are an actual hunter.
You sound like a PETA member trying to sow discord....
....Trying to undermine ALL hunters rights.
Like I said.
Get a life.

haha listen son.... i've shot white tail from distances over 800 yards.... do you even understand what kind of skill it takes to take a deer from that far with a clean kill? everything comes into play.... wind speed, humidity, the gravitational force of the earth as well as the coriolis effect, temperature comes into play... if it's hot out it'll make the powder burn faster, you have to be able to judge the distance to your game using the mil dot system... you also have to be a bad *** shot and have a still hand. You gotta know how to track the game as well. psh.... as far as i'm concerned it's hunting either way, but for the record..... i hunt smart. It sort of appears as if you don't have alot of intellect to use in the woods... i'm assuming you haven't taken down so many deer with your beloved bow and arrow.
Happy Hunting from Dale's Guns

What are you doing on this forum? Obviously you are not a hunter.

Have you ever hunted? I mean just hunted for food, not played Indian with a bow and arrow? Hunters care about humanely taking game, not just killing (and in the case of bow n arrow) searching for wounded game for hours.

You are not impressing anyone with your "use a bow..." bravado, you are just displaying your ignorance.

Didn't like the 1st batch of answers you got I'm guessing. You obviously are some mentally disturbed little troll who can't deal with the truth. As a real hunter I care about wether the animal suffers needlessly (read shot with an arrow). SInce you stated you don't care you are obviously not a "real hunter" just a simple killer.

as a hunter I see the bow as just extending the seasons I can hunt in, since I enjoy the hunt I use bow, rifle, black powder...whatever weapon's in season.

if you're such a big bad hunter why don't you go bare-handed into the wilderness and use your "natural strengths"? I mean, such a big brave "hunter and gamesman" like you should have no problem without a man-made weapon. craven little bastard.

I made my own long bow from Osage. I am skilled in flint napping and producing my own projectile points from primitive tools. It is very satisfying to harvest with my own creation however I still hunt with a rifle or shotgun sometimes and I have nothing against rifle hunters.

I just like to see if I could survive on my own and I got my answer.

.... there is a lot of skill in shooting, especially making long range shots. My cousin has a big old deer rifle and he has taken down deer at 600 yards before... he has to be so in tine with the deer, the wind, his finger, his breathing, at those ranges the slightest thing can make you miss. Being a good shooter takes a lot of work and practice, it is a strength just not a physical one.
