some people boil it, but I think this makes it kind of soggy.
I either cook it on a grill, wrapped in alumuninum foil for a few minutes- turn it occassionally. Or wrap it in wax paper and microwave it for 2 minutes per ear- comes out really crisp.

I soak the corn husks and all in water for a few minutes to make the husks pliable. Then grill the corn on the cob for about 15 minutes. Otherwise if you have frozen corn on the cob you're preparing you can put it in a microwave dish with about a 1/4 cup of water and cover the dish and microwave for about 5 minutes to steam the corn. You can boil corn on the cob, but it just tastes a lot better grilled or steamed. Then top with butter, garlic, salt, whatever you prefer...

I always use a microwave. If you have a casserole dish with lid, that would be perfect.
I put tons of butter, salt, pepper, garlic powder, whatever you want, then cover and stick in the microwave about 5 minutes, check for tenderness and either remove or continue cooking, but just a minute or two at a time. Always juicy!

My favorite is to boil it with some potatos and sausage and seasonings -well, actually, I do it in a crab boil, and everyone who's eaten it says it's the best they've ever had - use crab, shrimp, sausage, potatos, onions, a lemon, and corn - season with cajun spices, bay leaves, and a bag of spicy crab boil and boil that sucker until it's done.
Alternatively, it is really good if you wrap it in tin foil with paprika, jalapeno tabasco, salt, pepper and butter, and put it in a fire or on the grill until it's tender.

wrap the ear of corn in a wet paper towel (white, no dyes) and pop it in the microwave for 2 minutes (for 1 ear, add a minute for each ear up to 6 minutes) or until cooked to your taste. This will steam it to perfection!
Is actually better for you than boiling, as you lose vitamins by boiling it in water.
Unwrap, apply butter, salt, and pepper, and munch!

My mom always shucks it then puts it in a big pan of water, brings the water to a boil and shuts the stove off just after. Then she takes it out right before time to serve. Always seems to turn out great!
