I live in a border state,NM. There are alot of illegals here, and i personally know alot of them. (i used to work at a roofing company). What i want to know is how do so many of them just drive across the border, i mean i see sooooo many mexican license plates all over, I dont understand this. and yes i know most of them are illegal. So this obviously means they are not just sneaking across the border.

Bruce, most of the illegals here are not truly poor. they own homes (thanks to tax ID #s) get government assistance, and just about everything we do but at the same time thay are still illegal.

Well many of the Baja California plates I see are parked in front of their homes. They are illegally working someplace.

I must say that I find that to be very strange. I live in the SF Bay Area and while there are a considerable amount of both legal and illegal immigrants, I have never in my whole life seen a Mexican license plate here! I guess the theory of them having had a work visa at one time does make sense, though, and if you know for a fact that they are illegals as of right now then they must have overstayed that visa.

It's not illegal to travel to the U.S. Our borders are open to tourists. The 'illegal' part comes in when they get a job and set up a permanent residence here. This requires a work visa. The folks that 'sneak across the border' usually don't have a passport. The truly poor immigrants can't afford vehicles or proper paperwork. However, it's no less illegal to cross the border in your vehicle and get a job without a proper visa.

Our borders are so wide open it wouldn't surprise me if there was a paved road somewhere for all to cross safely. I am sure however than many of those with Mexican tags were at least one time on a work visa and overstayed, which still means they are in this country without authorization so it makes little difference.

When the government doesn't enforce the laws, it's easy to see why they aren't obeyed. I am advocating that U.S. Citizens refuse to obey all the same laws that illegals are getting away with and when they are arrested, they plead unequal treatment under the law. After all, why should law-abiding citizens pay for driver's licenses, insurance, medical care, etc. when illegals just drive without them and don't get prosecuted?

email or call your state commies and ask them why this is going on. i wonder if bush had all this planed when he falsely sent out military to iraq? seems fishy now that i think about it.
