I keep having this awful reoccuring dream. I dream that i'm in a foreign country on a vacation, and that in one way or another, i end up being down by the shore, and see this 25-50 meter giant monster wave in the horizon coming towards the shore and the hotels. it's really cloudy and grey outside so some people don't pay much attention to it due to the lack of light.
anyways, i really dunno what to do, it really really scares me,
Anybody know why you get reoccuring dreams like this??

Most dreams contain messages that serve to teach us something about ourselves. Unfortunately many a times we forget what we dream about as we go about our daily routine. With recurring dreams, the message may be so important and/or powerful that it just will not go away. The frequent repetition of such dreams forces you to pay attention and confront the dream. The dream is trying desperately to tell you something. Such dreams are often nightmarish or frightening in their content, which also helps you to take notice and pay attention to them.

Recurring dreams are quite common and are often triggered by a certain life situation or a problem that keeps coming back again and again. These dreams may recur daily, once a week, or once a month, but whatever the frequency, there is little variation in the dream content itself. It usually points to a personal weakness, fear, or your inability to cope with something in your life - past or present.

The repetitive patterns in your dream can reveal some of the most valuable information on yourself. It may point to a conflict, situation or matter in your waking life that remains unresolved or unsettled. Or some urgent underlying message in your unconscious is demanding to be understood.

Following are some tips in overcoming your recurring dreams.

1. In understanding your recurring dream, you must be willing to accept some sort of change or undergo a transformation.

2. You must be willing to look within yourself and confront whatever you may find no matter how difficult it my be.

3. You must be able to look at the dream from an objective point of view. Try to get pass the emotional and reactive elements of the dream and get down to the symbolic images. Many times dreams are masked by elements that are disturbing preventing you to delve any deeper. This is a defense mechanism that your unconscious may be putting up.

4. Be patient. Do not get discourage if these dreams still recur even after you thought you have come to understand them.

5. Learn to accept yourself truly and fully.

Often times, once you discover what your recurring dream is trying to tell you, these dreams will change or altogether disappear.

This can be representative of a situation in your life that is out of your control -- or that you feel is. The water represents your subconscious mind. You are standing on the shore (between your conscious and subconscious) and are about to be overwhelmed by the wave. So, something is bothering you deep down there -- and you need to find out what it is and address it. Once you do, the dreams will stop -- until something ELSE starts bothering you again.

foreign country = strange place, things you are not familiar
giant monster wave = fear, sudden changes
people don't pay attention due to lack of light = feeling left out

You may be feeling left out in reality. Projecting monster wave shows emotionally you are feeling shocked when it comes to sudden changes or problems. In other words, you may be into some strange things ahead of you or you can't get used to the environment that easily. That's why you are having this recurring dream. Basically, deep down you are refusing to accept any changes coming to your life. And you had to vent it out in dream.

Examine your life, you probably know what it.

Dreams of waves are generally about feeling overwhelmed, however there has been a number of accounts of people dreaming of giant waves months before the Tsunami disaster.

The foreign country could also show that you feel isolated.

According to Dreamcrowd:

To dream of the countryside, suggests that you are seeking a simpler way of life. You need to take some time for yourself to relax and free your mind. Alternatively, it indicates a sense of freedom and/or openness that is lacking in your daily life.

To see land in your dream, represents nurturance and you need to be grounded. You are seeking for a strong foundation and some sort of stability. To see rocky or barren land, denotes failure in your undertakings.

it might not be anything though it could be something. are you afriad of tsunamis. maybe its just your consious telling you your are afraid. or it could be cause one will happen in the future. or maybe you will really go to a foreign country were a wave hits. go to your docter and see about sleeping pills or something that could help you if its making it hard to sleep or maybe your doc will have ideas about what to do about it.
