I dont want to become a gaurd with securitas where i have to piss people off by telling my supervisor or the police someone is trying to break into a car in the camera im watching. I want them to not be mad at me for telling. I really dont want to get beat up for doing my job.

well your job is to report people to the police. If someone is breaking into a car, you better tell the management/dispach or the police, depending on policy. Otherwise you will probably lose your job. Do you think they are going to pay you to sit there in your uniform and not do anything? You are paid to help keep personal property protected. You shouldnt have to risk getting beat up because you do not have the authorty as a guard to arrest people, or even detain them. As a security guard you only have the rights as every other civilian out there. If you do not want to "piss" off criminals for breaking laws, then this might not be the line of work for you.If you want a safe job, try being a security guard at an amusement park, mall, etc.

Sorry mate,No.Being a security guard is risky and if you do not have the courage or the inclinaation to put your life on the line then this sort of a job is deffinately not for you.If you were really serious about becoming a security guard,I do not think you would have had to ask this question in the 1st place.

if you're near a major city, there may be a Contemporary Services Corporation near you. This is the security company that I work part time for. They do event staff at major events throughout the country, pay well, and the work is very easy (usually consists of doing searches or keeping people out of restricted areas). if you are worried about people being "mad at you for" (telling) you are going into the WRONG field...you have to be strong willed to perform any type of security and it can always be dangerous..Don't underestimate the field
