yes over exercising is bad. you can damage muscles, nerves and other parts of the body. A less popular form of bulimia involves over exercising. I remember a former Mr. America or Universe died from over exercising. A heart attack caused by other exercising.
there's no actual number becuase everyone is different. just listen to your body. Once you start hurting and feeling fatigued, it's your body telling you that it's time to stop.

Your body will tell you. If you're in pain from exercise the day before, leave those muscles alone. Focus on another group. Don't over-do the cardio. 45min. to one hour a day is more than enough. Most healthy people do that three or four times a week. If you over-do it, your body becomes cannibalistic, eating its own muscle for energy, which defeats the purpose, right?? Also, you MUST eat healthy, including lots of lean protein. Whey and casines are best.

You should be able to tell, if you are real sore then take a break. Also if your talking about cardio like running then you shouldnt be too uncomfortable doing it. Really you should be fine, if your working muscle training then you should probably already know that you should alternate where you dont do the same muscles everyday. Eat and drink enought also to support the workout

if you're doing strength training, you need to let your muscles heal, probably like a day or so. you can do cardio on those other days. the only muscle that doesn't need too much time to heal are the abs, those you can do daily....BUT if you're really sore and you don't let your muscles heal you can tear ligaments and stuff. if you feel your muscles in alot of pain and it doesn't go away after a few days of rest even after taking ibuprofen like motrin or advil, then you've done something wrong and will most likely need to see a doctor who will probably prescribe something and advise you to stay off that particular muscle for a couple weeks.

This generally happens when you are on the verge of fainting. This is different from just working out and feeling exhausted due to not being in shape or an intense workout. Never work yourself to the point of total exertion.

You have to listen to your body. There are clear signals that you may be over doing it. However, it is different for everyone. Make sure that you are drinking at least 8 glasses of water a day and get enough rest.

I don't think you can over exercise. If you notice you start bulking up, then maybe slow down. Use light weights and do lots of reps. I work out 2-1/2 hours a day, 5 days a week. And hour of cardio and an hour and a half of weights. Event hat doesn't feel like enough for me. I'm sure what you are doing is fine...
