They had no stand. Iran did not have one of the non-permanent member seats on the UN Security Council at the time, so they were not involved in the issuance of a peace enforcement resolution (# 678) by the Security Council under Chapter Seven of the UN Charter.

Iran become impartial, and took maximum of Iraqi refugees,,, and approximately 4 hundred of Iraqs ultimate jet combatants, who landed in Iran to conceal from the allies bombings.... as Iran saved those jet combatants until finally that day.
