I have heard it is, and I have also heard it is not (mainly from my Boss), but I am getting pretty tired of playing the guessing game every time I open my paycheck.

Nothing illegal about that. But if you think you are being cheated out of being paid for all your hours, I would keep track of each days hours, and multiply them by your hourly rate, to make sure that your gross paycheck is the correct amount. If it's not, first bring it to your bosses attention (that way he knows you are paying attention to how much you are getting paid), and then if you get nowhere with him, then bring it to hr/payroll dept. If you get nowhere with them (other than out the door), then you can report your employer to your states dept of labor, state dept of revenue and the IRS and the US dept of labor.

You should have access to a stub each time you get paid. I really don't know if it is illegal but I do know that your employer has to make you aware of any charges or garnishments being deducted from your weekly checks.

It doesn't have to be on the check stub, but the company is required to keep timecards, timesheets, or whatever original documents are created.

Why don't you keep track yourself of your hours? Then it wouldn't be a guessing game.

sorry but nothing illegal as
the stub is more of a courtesy.
however not too ethical to leave out the hours assuming you get paid by the hour
