Considering it's a tourist area and there's lots of food and garbage collected, that may be an attraction for strays. Strays are rarely fixed so they multiply.

As for an exact count, I can't offer one.

That's a strange question. I would use the following formula for an estimation of the cat population:

Number of humans in Ontario * proportion of cat owners in a normal population = number of cats owned by humans in Ontario
