I'm the classic "good girl" who doesn't drink, get into fights, etc. I'm dating/living with a Marine and he owns one rifle and two hand guns that he keeps locked in a room in our basement. He took me shooting at a range (my first time ever), and we had a good time. I had a few pictures taken throughout the day, and to cap off the day, we went home and he showed me how to rack the rifle, etc. (we dont have any ammo for it in the house) Again, a few fun pictures.
Naturally, I posted some of them on my blog and myspace. I then got tons of flack from my friends saying how terrible guns are and how terrible its going to make people think about me. Seeing as how both the blog and myspace are friend-only, I believe they are mistaken. Anyone who knows me knows I'm not going to go on a shooting rampage from a day with guns. I think they are just using their own opinions about the morals of firearms to judge my recreation.

Are the pictures appropriate or should I take them down?

leave 'em up, i have plenty of gun pics on mine and get nothing but good comments. just because you've developed an interest in guns doesn't mean your friends have to and they should realize you're not forcing it on them

Keep the guns, boyfriend, and pictures, and forget the "friends".

Firearms are metal objects - machines - they have no morals, only the user does. Firearms don't do terrible things, people do.

If you aren't crazy or a criminal, there is nothing wrong with owning firearms and ammo and enjoying days at the shooting range.

Target shooting is good clean recreation that teaches respect, discipline, and is just plain fun.

Now you know who your true friends are - and the more involved you get, the more great people you'll meet that enjoy target shooting.

Your friends are just either stubborn or uneducated about guns. If you really want to remain friends wth them, either convert them to your side, prove that fighting over the pictures is childish, or take the pictures down.

I wish you the best of luck, hopefully they will agree to a range trip and will convert to a more pro-gun stance. Target shooting is a great hobby and I'm sure that if your friends were pro-gun, you could enjoy a "girl's day out to the range"

You'll find more democrats on computers than republicans.
You'll find more liberals on computers then conservatives.
You'll find more whiners on computers than thinkers.
You'll find all of the above on Myspace.
Along with molesters, stalkers, identity theives, ....and their list of potential victims. The subscribers, like you.
Your best bet is to do two things. Get off of Myspace. close your account. Don't associate with people who presume the right to judge you. Particularly when you can't go a week without hearing that some poor fool was selected from Myspace and targeted for rape and death.
The second thing that you need to do is to get some ammo for that gun. An unloaded gun is useless for protecting your life. And if you've been posting information and pictures on Myspace....Your life might need protection.

Sadly in today's world owning a firearm is considered evil and immoral by many. Guns themselves are nothing more than pieces of wood, metal and/or polymer. To me, owning a firearm is no different than owning a car or a TV. It's how you use that defines your character to me. Leave the pictures up, if I had a Myspace page I assure you it would be nothing but firearms everywhere.

in spite of the exposure from the NRA, maximum individuals do no longer own weapons, and don't opt to possess weapons. Constitutionally, there have been many opinions written with regard to the 2d replace. the incontrovertible fact that the terrific court has supported gun controls shows that the 'properly regulated' clause has been many times occurring by ability of the courts. the different area, which talks of the risk-free practices of the state, and the choose for a defense force, leads some scholars to question regardless of if absolutely everyone, exterior of an area, prepared (regulated) stress, has any precise to endure palms. searching remains a favored game, yet this has declined each and every 365 days for the final two decades, and is slowly death out - in part because of the fact our lives have replaced; human beings could quite devour out than clean out the innards of an animal and then prepare dinner it - and in part because of the fact the provision of interest has decreased. meanwhile the unlawful use of weapons in crimes has sky-rocketted. As appauling because of the fact the area is, and as disgusting is the relationship between politicians of the two events and the NRA, there is little liklihood of removing weapons from our society.

A few good friends is better than a lot of jerks you can't depend on.Guns are just materials.metal and wood.many women don't appreciate firearms, which is a shame. If I were you I would put out a bulletin telling them if they don't like it then they don't have to be on your friends list.Hell,If they still gave me that "guns are evil and so are you" crap,I'd boot em off my list without notice. And in case you are in the market for a self defense gun, might I reccomend a Makarov or PPK?

if you really want to have some fun take some pictures of you riding in the back of a pick-up (bonus points if its painted camo) blowing up small birds with a 12 gauge shotgun while slamming beer and post those to your myspace. good times.

the pictures should of course be staged, I'd just pay good money to see the expressions on their faces. oh yea, and not only should you leave the pics up, but you should keep going to the range and taking pictures to remember it by and keep posting them on the web. life's too short to care what someone else thinks about you.

Nothing about guns is the problem. Keep the guns. Learn more about them. Become proficient with them. Understand this, when all is said and done personal firearm ownership and proficiency is what made America free, and what will in the end keep it free. And safe.
Period. Besides the fact that gun related sports and leisure activities can be fun.

Leave the pictures up! It's your right to enjoy yourself in anyway you like (legally of course) and if you enjoy guns and shooting the heck with your 'friends'. They are not very good friends if they don't respect your feelings and beliefs. There's nothing bad about a gun, it's as good or as bad as the person using it.

Anyone who tells you guns are bad is an idiot. Without guns you would not have the freedom to ask this question. Imagine fighting the American Revolution without guns. We would have lost and every rational person knows it. Thank your boyfriend for helping defend our freedom, and pray that when he has to use guns to do so that your boyfriend will be better with his rifle than our enemies are with theirs.
Hitler banned gun possession by German civilians as soon as he could and now we all know why Hitler wanted people to be defenseless. When people see that you are armed, they are far less likely to attack you. Be proud of your Marine boyfriend and be proud that you have guns to defend yourself with.
