please do a great favor to urself and ignore all the answers which u were given so far even Amanda's , tunavamp and go see a lawyer to make sure what is is that U need to do in ur particular case ... there is many rules and things which can change things to one way or another . the ten years Amanda speaks about would only happen if she has been deported already in the past or if there is something in her past which may ban her for a while such as a criminal conviction . so go see a lawyer and don't base ur decision in YA .

by the way maturity has nothing to do with age , many would like to believe so but i seen so many people with far more maturity than people who are way older than them .

Serious answer.

You are letting yourself in for big trouble.

On the practical side I understand there may be a vast difference if she initially came legally and overstayed or if she came illegally to begin with. If she overstayed you can hope for some kind of waiver and adjustment, but if she came illegally to begin with I understand there is basically no way to make it right without leaving the country for years. However, I am just repeating what I've heard and if you are seriously thinking of this you need to speak to an immigration attorney. The first consultation is often free.

Your wife could be deported at any time. Why would you put yourself and future kids through that? There isn't any paperwork for someone who is here illegally. She would have to go back to her country and apply for a green card. She can't do it from the US.

Marriage to an American isn't a "guarantee" of a green card. It just moves a person's priority up a notch. The fact that she IS living in this country illegally, would be a mark against her.

Dispassionately...the BEST chance of her staying in the country if you got married would be to return to her country and then have you apply for a fiancee visa. That would allow her to legally return to this country for the purpose of marriage. You would have 90 days to get married.

After the marriage, you could apply for a green card for her. That is a process of about 3 months to 3 years depending on the backlog in your part of the country. Then there is a period of years that she would have a conditional green card. You both would have to go back in for interviews from time to time to make sure the marriage is valid.

IF you should stay married the requisite amount of time, her green card would be permanent and she could apply to be a citizen.

Now, just a bit of advice...not dispassionate at all. She's considerably older than you. Women mature faster than men which means her maturity level is far above yours. The chances that this marriage would succeed are very slim to none. There's also a chance that you are being manipulated in order for her to legalize her status. Think hard.

You have to sign statements about yourself and it will show that she is an illegal and you could get into trouble for helping this to be hidden so go and make all the necessary steps to make everything right so you start off with no threats etc over your marriage ~~

Depending on the state you live in to get married she would need a valid government ID. I tried to marry my fiance who overstayed his Visa and was denied, so it's a very hard road to go down. Good luck.

You can marry her here. Depending upon the country she is from, the rules change.

If she is from Mexico (I assume - only because the large majority are), there is a 10 year home-base policy, which means that she has to go back to Mexico for 10 years. After those years, and, assuming that you are both married and still in love, she can come here. You can go to Mexico with her, or stay here.

I am unsure of the fines- I think someone posted it was around 4-6K. but, it is paid in increments. An amount is sent in with each paper you fill out.

If she is from a country other than Mexico, I would advise you to look online for an answer, or, call the ICE agency. It can be hard to get ahold of someone to talk to, but, I have helped others through the automated system, and, the answer you search for is probably there.

Marriage won't make her legal. She will not a green card just because you marry her. There is too much marriage fraud going on. Anyways, you are way too young to marry...plus you never know if she is trying to use you. Don't marry her. Tell her to go back to her country of origin and immigrate to the US legally.

you would have do all the paper work and pay the fees. she would have to go back to her country until the paperwork is approved. she can get the paperwork here. she would have to talk to an immigration consultant.
