...if he's inferior to God?
And for the record, I believe in Deities, and I pray to my gods and goddesses daily. I just don't believe in the manufactured Satan idea. Just doesn't make sense to me, and seems more like a scare tactic.
I'm not trying to be offensive, and I'm sorry if I do offend, but I just would really like to know the percieved level of Satan's "power?" (That is, for those who believe in him. Atheists, this question is not for you.)
People tell me that I'm a Witch because Satan is influencing me even if I don't know it, but that just seems so silly. Is he really supposed to be THAT powerful that he can do that?? Isn't God supposed to be greater than that?
Please explain.

Boca: Thanks for the chuckle. If you knew me, you'd know I am far from weak. I'm just trying to understand what the reasoning is, so refrain from being rude, thanks.

satan works through the world.....let me put it this way god has forbidden many things such as witchcraft, necromancey, divination, and other things like that. Doing any of those things open you up to satan and his demons. Even things like the exorcist open you up. People joke and say oh it's not real but they do realize just how real it is. Satan is just as alive today as he was in the begininng of time. He comes to kill steal and destroy and you know what it's working . People are falling for his traps. God does not make you do these things...he has given you a choice...and that is to serve him or not to serve him...accept his gift or don't . Satan goes after those who are the weakest and those are the nonbelievers the one's who use weji boards and "talk to spirits" all of this is demonic and satan works through it. When you do that u allow him and demons into your home your life and even you. All of those things that satan works through are and abomination in gods eyes.
God is greater than Satan he always has been and always will be....but god gives us free will we choose the road we take. One leads to eternal life and salvation . While the other leads to eternal torture and surfing.
Deuteronomy 18: 9-13
9-When thou art come into the land which the lord thy god giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations.
10-There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire,or that useth divination,or an observer of times,or an enchanter,or a witch.
11-Or a charmer,or a consulter with familiar spirits,or a wizard, or a necromancer.
12-For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of the abominations the LORD thy GOD doth drive them out from before thee.
13-Thou shalt be perfect with the LORD they GOD.
I hope this helped u......god bless and bye ^^

To me Satan is no more a red leathery skinned bully lurking in the ethers than God is some bearded head honcho on some private real estate in the sky dude with a big wrinkled butt from sitting on a golden throne of clouds forever.
Lucifer is the (eye/I) light by which we perceive this world but Satan is the Physical body within which we perceive it
Both are only "misleading' in accordance to our own states
we can only see what we are en-light-end of
and the body responds in accordance to it's own developments and feeds to the consciousness such things as feelings which are always Dependant on past experiences and thoughts which are always Dependant on what we have already programmed our mind to and what our attitudes and agendas are
The mind/soul/spirit has Satan to be able to adventure in existence in this Here and Now and thus Satan is the servant providing an illusion of reality
but as the mind realizes that it is creating a soul out of itself through encounter with life and progresses to greater and greater alignment with it's own Spirit the Satanic body itself transmutes always being a fitting container for what is creating it- the person within
Religions and politicians needed to discourage the value of this Luciferic/Satanic world for fear that people would realize that it is the Father/Mother/Source's manifested Kingdom and upset their little cash cows
thus they created the Devil concept

Actually to be fair you have equal opportunity to be influenced by good and evil, God and satan. You can choose for yourself.
The power comes in when God can keep His promises and satan cannot.
God has the power to forgive and let you into heaven and satan can give you nothing -- he has no power to grant one single thing.
Satan says it doesn't matter and God and satan are a fairy tale when infact that is a lie.
God gives us a way to find truth and that is faith in Jesus Christ -- faith to pray for answers and God answers prayers.
Good Luck

He can't have any power over you if you don't let him. personally I don't believe in Satan as they describe him. I do believe there is evil in us and it's called ego but it's not evil, it's just ignorant and needs to learn lessons and to be mastered.
There is something really interesting about this in the book of Job where Satan is seen as God's helper, so to say. They make a bet and Satan brings Job to a state of complete devastation and ruin both economically and physical to prove his faith. there he has influence over him because God lets him. In a way life would be like that, God gives us free will to decide whether to embrace Satans' temptations or Him. I don't believe it as such, not literally I mean. I do believe that we have to be strong and learn to control our pulses, to quote Freud.

If you are so weak that you need a god and many other people to tell you what is right and wrong then any "satan" can influence you no matter who or what that "satan" is.

Because we're weak and stupid and mere women. Because Satan IS that powerful and God gives us "freewill" so of course he isn't going to do anything. Don't you love all the perfect loops holes? It reminded me of that kid in school that everyone hated becuase they THOUGHT they knew everything but they didnt.

Kids that hang out in alleys and on streetcorners are inferior to parents, but sometimes your kids listen to them dont they.
Witches are people that willingly follow Satan. Regular people that get caught in sin are the ones Satan is influencing.
Satan has the power to tempt and corrupt. God has the power to save, heal, and enlighten. I ask you which is the greater power?

I find it absurd too! ~ Christians tell us that their god gave them free will. That he cannot make them do anything. Yet they also believe that this satan guy can??
Is that saying that satan has more power that their god??
As usual the christian faith is full of contradictions!

You know I wish i knew.
I do know a lot of christians dont acctually belive he has any power.... but a lot of them are probablly the ones who are turning and saying that "satans influencing you!" and such things. They tend to be....weird. I like to think of it like at the end of bedazzled. God and the devil are playing a game of chess. God could easily beat the poo out of him but its a game of strategy.

satan is said to be a god as well but he is not a powerful one.
he suggest thoughts of confusion and ideas of evil actions. usually they seem to be your own thoughts. but if you know what is right and compare these thoughts to what is right then you can make the right choices.
