Aasbach tastes straight up like liquid black licorice. It is fairly difficult to come by in the states though. It is a German liquor and very powerful stuff. You can also try Sambuca, but I don't think it tastes as much like licorice as Aasbach does.

jager is easiest to find but sambucca is what you're after.. its served as an after dinner drink at most italian resturants. and there are usually a few coffee beans in the bottom.. and its flammable.
