I have taken adderall or ritalin for 7 years now and my new shrink took me off because he didn't believe I have ADHD. Now that school is back in session, I have no motivation to study. I have a new doctor (it's a long story) and I think he's going to test me today. In any case, I hate the fact that I have no motivation to do much of anything.

Maybe it could help if you broke your motivation down into small tasks.
Tell yourself, if you do this..........then you can do something you want to do. Reward ;yourself for betting the task done. Then do something else you do not want to do and reward yourself afterward.
How about if I study or do my homework, I can go to Yahoo Answers when I finish. Don't stay up toooooo late though!

That's great that you found something that works! Dd you discuss all this with the prescribing doctor? Your fears and concerns? Can they give you an idea of how long you'll need to be on it? I can relate to what you're saying. I am on several psych meds and know they could be adversely affecting my inner organs. But, for me, it is worth feeling well than becoming concerned with side effects that may never happen.

Try the many links found by typing in "self motivation" and "self motivation techniques" into Yahoo! web search. You should find some tips there. You had the motivation to put this query onto the Internet; just remember what you felt in order to do that and repeat it at school.

Hope this helps, good luck, good health, peace and love!
