I'm a college student that drives over 50 miles a day, and I need a good reliable car that gets good gas mileage. I've pretty much narrowed it down to these two because of the gas mileage, price, and reliability of these two companies. So I'd like to know from people who own both of these, which is better? Or if you have a better option what is it? Thanks for any help!

I'd get the Fit. I think it looks better and if you read the reviews, it's a much more fun car to drive. Both should get good gas mileage and be reliable, so it's probably mostly up to which one you personally like better.

1. Mechanically I would favour the Toyota. They're engineered to last 2. I haven't driven the Fit, but the Yaris was easy enough to park 3. Abysmal 4. I don't know. But let me add in something related to that. First, I would not get the Yaris. It's crash safety is abysmal. Even with the side airbags, I don't trust it. I don't think these cars have a sunroof, and if they did, I would not get it. Structural integrity for the car is of the highest importance. Cutting a hole in the roof compromises it. Secondly, both the Fit and Yaris I looked at did not have an armrest for the driver in the centre, only on the door. That's a dealbreaker for me. Also, the Yaris had the most horrible hard plastic inside. That stuff scratches. I checked out a Versa, and while it's by far the ugliest of the three, it has a centre armrest and has quality materials inside. Best of all, I thought it was the most driveable and it was like the Sentra, but cheaper. I'm sure the appearance of the Versa has probably turned you off to it, but check it out. It's ugly rear-end will probably have the best visibility to you.

I dont own either of these cars but I have worked for a car rental company in the past and I can tell you from experience and from what other customers have commented is that the toyota Yaris is a real gas saver and conserves a tremedous amount of fuel. hope that helps a bit!

STOP!!! The Toyota Yaris didn't do so well in Consumer Reports last report. Get a Toyota Corolla, and you can't go wrong! :D They have been made for a LONG time, and all the bugs have been worked out.

A 2008 Corolla is only about $14,000, and will last you 20 years! Think about THAT! :D

I wrote you a long report in the other place you posted this question! :D Don't miss it! :)

Fit. On the Yaris the speedometer is in the centre, which made that an instant NO from me.
