A regular stamp will do. APO addresses are just like sending something here in the states. Your dad can send letters to you for free. He just has to write "MPS" in the corner where the stamp would go.

No. Just so you know, when you send a letter or package to an APO AE address, you are sending it to NY or Philly, that is all the farther you are paying for the letter or package to be sent. From there, it gets put into the military mail system, and then it gets there when it gets there, usually in about a week or so.
BTW, APO AP gets sent to CA, (I think) then then forwarded from there.

No you only pay for extra postage when it is more than a normal letter or something. Just send it like you would if he was in the states. One stamp! My hubby is in Iraq also so I send him stuff all the time!

No. Just domestic stamps. And if you're sending a package ask the postal clerk about "SAM" and "PAL" service. It's two types of sending packages which are reserved for receipt by overseas personnel.

No. I was stationed in Germany, but citizens could send my mail to my APO in New York and it would find its way to me in Germany.

Nope. Just take to the P.O. and they will tell you how much postage you owe and they will take it from there.
