I suppose it depends on what you intend doing on it really! If you intend to do physical stuff, and mean it!, then yes it can contribute to a weight loss. However, if you are going to serve your picnic up on it probably not!
Enough of the kidding around. Yes exercise tones up your muscles and gets your heart moving. Dance to keep fit and lose weight but also remember that the calorie intake of your food will need adjusting too.

You only lose weight if you burn more calories than
you are eating. You Gain weight with a knife and fork
and what goes into you mouth.
exercise is only part of losing weight, it is eating
that makes you put on weight.

In a survey a while back it stated that people who fidget are slimmer than those who don't , So any type of movement helps us burn calories
