My dog has them too maybeit s b/c they are mixed w/chowchow

It depends on the dogs. Chows usually have the black spots on the tongue.

Possibly it has some Chow in it. Chow's have dark tongues.

somtimes they will have different markings on them to show they are purebred like on labs they have a white mark on there chest and my sheperd and retervier have a black spot on both of there tounges!

Its just a breed trait. Most Chows, pitbulls and other breeds have them.

it was most likely born with it on it's tongue...if you haven't seen it before maybe because whenn it got older it started to show.
