the ps3 is apparently losing to its rivals, and as long as it does not have a worthwhile game, it will continue losing. who here thinks that once sony has convinced square to remake FF7, the ps3's sales will rocket up?

Well, FF7 was a horrible game, but so many crazy fanboys loved it, yes, you're right, it would probably save it.

um whoever thinks that ps3 is keeping pace with 360 is retarted.
ps3 is a good system...but its selling horribally...its games arent good at the moment
the ps3 has sooooooo much more potiental than what is offered right now
delvopers of games just need to master it and make a game that uses all of its cabablities. After that then people will go crazy
when EA made madden 08 they said the 360 version was better than the ps3...WHY? you may ask. because they already worked with the 360 a year ago and new what it was capable of and new how to design the controls and graphic right for the system..They never worked on the ps3 b4 and thats y its worse
a ff7 remake would help it.(new graphics and much)i personally would love it if the gameplay was like kingdom hearts.best rpg gameplay everrrrrrrr :)(in my opinon lol)
i think the only thing that will save the ps3 is for one company to really make a game that pushes the console to its limits.

I think they are just comming out with a monster selection of games like Metal gear Solid but a remake for ff7 would get me to buy one. That was the best game I ever played. Technically the ps3 is still a baby and it took 360 over a year for good titles to come out like GOW.

It's not really losing.
Obviously the Wii is a phenom, but the PS3 is keeping pace with the 360. If you look at the monthly sales for the three major markets;
US: 360 has the edge.
Europe: fairly similar (UK aside, the PS3 is probably ahead)
Japan: 360 barely sells at all.

That aside, there's already 2 FFXIII games coming out for it, and possibly a Star Ocean game. Along with the other exclusives coming soon (GT5, MGS4, Home, LBP, Haze, ..) there's more than enough to give it a boost.

To the chap calling me a retart (?) or maybe a retard....

and then compare the two with the options at the bottom
I think this is 'keeping pace'..

the ps3 is doing fine. what, its a failure because the 250 new gamecube is selling more. give it time. the ps3 already has better games than the 360 and the wii in my opinion. i loved mario paper and gears of war was cool, but other than that, nothing really good. resistance, motorstorm and recently warhawk are all sweet games. but i do agree with you, ff7 would be absolutely amazing. i havent played that game in years, but i do remember putting about 100 hours of my time into it.
