Sorry... Just had to ask... I have trouble spelling but I try very hard not to inflict my handicap on others :-)

Like I said, I can't spell either... but I find it hard to understand the questions sometimes and I get frustrated. No, I don't think I'm special. Didn't know what category to put it in so I just went with where I was answering (and not understanding...) some questions. Spell check has been a great invention, why not use it? :-)

I feel the same way. Personally speaking, it's a self respect thing that goes with not using all the cute little abbreviations people use.

One point however, spell check doesn't pick up on everything. There have been times where I've had to edit my e mails prior to sending them because something was missed by spell check.

Another thought as well. Everyone is in such a hurry today that maybe they just don't want to take the time to do it, it DOES take a little extra effort (God forbid!).

Or.....could it be they just don't care? Too sad of a thought for me!

Good question though!

Apparently not...or just lazy. I typo sometimes because my fingers go faster than my brain (or eyes) but if I see I've made a mistake I'll typically correct it or run spell check before I post.

Not sure what this has to do with Singles & Dating though...because it occurs in all categories.

i like to take care w/ my spelling but even so make some typing errorssssss....

also, there are also those who write in english altho english is not their first language. they aren't the best english spellers --so i'm not sure spellcheck would help them....i give them slack & respect for the fact that they are communicating in a very difficult language.

i've read letters written in 1600's - victorian & they abbreviated like mad..........

look why is spelling so important this is not for grammar critics this is for people who are on here to answer and ask questions. who says everybody has to spell perfect expect for the ones that have to be teachers and the one that are so perfect that can do any wrong. let me say this to you all NO BODY IS PERFECT NOT ME EVEN. but i still will criticize like i am doing now and by the way i know my grammar does bite.

Check spelling doesn't always catch the mistake.

That and when they type in all CAPS - really bugs me! (Just had to comment and let you know you aren't alone in your thinking!)
