Maybe you meant to say religious people. Sometimes they do. Just as atheists do at times. Don't forget Communist China invaded Communist Viet Nam and killed thousands. Both sides were atheist.

Hello,
The people in Iraq killing each other are Sunni and Shiite Muslims with members of Al Quaeda as catalysts.
Other than the earlier religious wars of the 16th and 17th centuries, most Christians kill each other over power, territory and financial gain like everyone else.
Cheers, Michael Kelly

Since 1648 Christianity has not played the major role in any conflict aside from minor isolated instances such as North Ireland where even there it is mostly a political fight. The Treaty of Westphalia made wars among European, ie Christian, nations about the state and not about the religion of the state.

In addition to the example of Northern Ireland mentioned above (Catholics and Protestants bombing each other), the recent 3-way war in the Balkans included Orthodox Serbians and Catholic Croatians massacring each other.
It is of course as much or more a matter of historical, political and ethnic differences, as it is a question of beliefs per se. Same goes largely speaking for the Sunni and Shia conflicts in Iraq and elsewhere in the Muslim world.

Yes, just not as often in recent years. Why are people in Iraq killing each other? Well, I think it has something to do with decades of religious persecution on the one side, and a desperate reluctance to forfeit one's previous stranglehold on the government for the other.

Most of us have outgrown that bad habit. But non-Christians, including atheists, have just as murderous proclivities. Look at Pol Pot, for example. Consider the "Cultural Revolution" of China.
People invent or latch onto whatever is convenient to use as an excuse to commit mass murder, and it's usually whatever happens to be socially favored. If religion is socially favored, religion becomes the excuse. If "continuing revolution" is socially favored, it becomes the excuse.

I don't get this question. The people in Iraq are not Christians - so does not make sense.

Iraqis and not Christian dude.
Otherwise I agree with you. Christians LOVE to slaughter one another and others not like them. For proof all you have to do is pick up a history book on European History.

The Shiites don't like the Sunnis, and VS. The Christian religion is not included in the fight.

Christians learned long ago that violance doesn't work. it destroys any progression as a society. some of the world still doesn't realize that yet.
