Well thats because it never happened. What kind of idiot gets lost in the desert for 40 years? Wouldn't someone at some point say " screw this I'm taking over?"
Yeah who has ever heard of people finding bones from 3500 years ago. Have you ever heard of dinosaurs? or some of the mummies from Egypt?
cpeezie-No they did not burn the bodies, it would go completely against the laws of the religion. But thanks for coming out.

Jewish/Hebrew tradition holds that some 2 to 3 million former Hebrew slaves passed through the Sinai desert. They remained 40 years until of all who left Egypt save 2 died. So to answer your question. Yes they all died save 2. But their children in great number did pass through. Not sure what your looking for with the term "transitional fossils". But this is some 3 thousand years later and not all human bodies are preserved as skeletons. Besides Hebrew tradition would have seen them buried. So unless you want to go digging up the whole Sinai looking for bits of 3 thousand year old Hebrew. You may just have to read the book of Exodus and be satisfied with its account.

I don't think there would be much preservation of bones in the desert - freeze/thaw, scavengers, erosion and so on would probably erase most evidence. After all, think of the number of camels and other animals that die in the Sahara yet it's not exactly knee-deep in bones.
Archeologists have found remains of ancient hearths and encampments in the desert which appear to belong to a nomadic people. These may or may not be the wandering Israelites but such sites provide evidence that *someone* was there.

Give it time, we may just have not found them yet. There have been many things the Bible said happened and people criticized and said it was a lie, and later on they find out it's true. People would say entire kingdoms and towns from the Bible were non-existant, only to uncover them later down the road.
Give it time, you never know what we might find.
EDIT: I got 2 thumbs down? For what? Because I said we might find something? WTH is a transistional bone anyways? I googled it and all I could find was something about bones in an animal snout.

Because you believe that Saint Magdalen is buried somewhere under the Louvre when her relics have been in the south of France all of the time.
You can check for yourself but since you do not want to believe it's up to you.

Why do you suppose that bones from a person who died about 3500 years ago would still be around?
