Dear Pelin.. I personally have met:
4 Cleopatras
3 Alexanders (Greats)
2 Queens Elisabeth (the Great)
4 Egyptian high priests
6 Witches of Salem
1 Catherine the Great
2 Leonardos da Vinci
Not to mention Roman Emperors, Philosophers, Generals, Queens, Captains etc, all majestic of course.
I never met someone who was a beggar, a farmer, a member of a ship's crew, a butcher, a greengrocer...
What a coincidence....

I think everyone has been reincarnating for millions of years and we all have had countless lives king, queen, garbage eater, victim, tyrant, murderer, murdered, noble, un-noble, male, female but always human
The actual NOW is what *Is* and that is the most important
Saying you were Cleopatra or some celebrated Merlin or Jack the Ripper is the same as saying "Why, when I was a football hero in college I could blah blah blah" or "When I was younger I had all the rich gentlemen eating out of my hand blah blah"
The past Never exists
Now is what is
Trying to say you were someone is saying you aint anyone Now
Living for the future is not living in Now
Looking to past lives to 'understand' this one is not meeting and adventuring in the Gift that is the Present and gleaning the involvements available
All this saying they were someone famous is because we live in a populated culture that has no respect for the grandness of life
presumably with so many lives around us then life itself must be cheap
and then religions themselves preach that thou shalt not live but rather race to the be wormfood in a grave
No wonder people try whatever is available around them that they can grasp to bring a sense of importance to themselves for their own mind
unfortunately they seek it from others rather than from their own mind and often in the doing so actually diminish their own mind because they indeed know the truth or untruth of their own words
edited to add: Blunt I-run of course you dont remember you dont still have the brain you had before. This brain is only being formatted by this life. It is the deeper talents and abilities that are more what you are different from all other humans when you say "I am blah blah" that are You meeting This Life that are what you gain from living. What is important is that you have a brain and can change your mind and create right now whatever it is you chose to be by your decisions in the changing Now. Those past deaths were to allow you to forget to be free to live Life.

I don't know if i *believe* in it, but I did have these really vivid dreams where I was a squirrel in one and a cat in the other, and they were so vivid that when I died (the squirrel got shot out of a tree and the cat got devoured by like doberman guard dogs) I woke up having minor convulsions over the "dream death." Cool dreams, long time ago. Cooler than being Cleopatra I guess, and doing what? Sailing the Nile, again! Yawn.

I only think of reincarnation whenever someone passes away or someone preaches and comes over to me and tells me to "repent". Naturally, thinking of the prospects of hell makes me opt for another dogma that offers an easy way out. But when you closely scrutinize it, I wouldn't want it either, who knows if I don't come back as a human being in my next lifetime? Some state that you can come back as an animal depending on your degree of "goodness". What if I was good but just good enough to be a cat or worse for some, cockroaches?

I never claimed to be noble in any of my past lives! But I know what you mean....sometimes I feel that I was the only peasant among all these kings and queens from the past! (Man - talk about having a lot of bosses!! - lol)

Well this is my first life and it's going ok for now, even i'm not a prince (or princess) :)
I don't believe reincarnation. That people dies and sent back to earth to live another one etc. People who don't want to die,and hate the idea that it will be the end of this world for them, made up something to make themselves feel good. Why not to crown it with another story, that they were someone big, or they lived some other interesting life.

I think I'm an exception, I turned out to be a dancer in latin America. I doubt I was rich. Thus, I prefer not to believe in reincarnation. I'd give it a second thought on it if I turned out to be a queen though. ( *looking far away, chin up* "ah I always knew I was of nobility" would be my first reaction =p )

I have never had such a feeling. Do you think I did not have reincarnation? Am I the first of myself? The prototype?
