Because all the religions have been against women. To put a woman into the trinity, in the highest position of power, was impossible for them; hence they had to put the Holy Ghost.
Now, nobody knows about the Holy Ghost, whether he is man or woman or neutral. And this Holy Ghost is the person responsible for making Mary pregnant -- and still he is holy! He is a rapist, because Mary was not aware of it; she was not a willing partner in it, and she was already married to a person. But the Holy Ghost did this; perhaps he is still around the world -- and he is one third of God!

Because in the beginning there was no woman!
Look at the wording closely, Jesus was present alongside of God, as the word. 2 People. The Holy spirit has always been nameless.
NO woman.
Besides that; throughout the bible there is evidence the trinity concept is wrong.

There is not a woman OR a man included. There is only the eternal God, Who has no gender. However, the Second Person of the Trinity did become human as a man, which makes it logical to refer to him in male terms. He also revealed the First Person of the Trinity in the imagery of "Father", which again makes male pronouns most appropriate, since we do not have pronouns that refer to a Person without gender. Also, since God and Mary werer the parents of Jesus, and Mary was female, God's role as "Father" is further enhanced. Still, we know that God is not in fact male nor female. Pure spirits (God and angels) do not have gender. Why would they? The fundamental purpose of gender is reproduction, and they don't reproduce.

God is transcendent of gender. God includes both masculine and feminine qualities. "Father, Son and Spirit" are metaphorical qualities we use to understand the various manifestations of God's activity. Also, "Spirit" is feminine in both Greek and Hebrew.
However, the classical culture which crafted early Christian doctrine was EXTREMELY patriarchal. Paul could say something like, "In Christ there is neither...slave nor free, male nor female." But (other than St. Patrick) it would take centuries for the church to even attempt to put these words into practice. We're still trying.
Peace to you.

Because it was an attempt to break away from the Pagan root from which christianity sprouted... In the ancient pagan traditions it allowed for both gods and godesses. When the bible was gathered together and the group that finally agreed on which books should and shouldn't be in the bible (which by the way was headed by a pagan) they precluded all femininty in a place of power. The closest you get in the bible to women in power are Ruth and Mary... That's it.

Our family (mother, father, son, daughter, etc) is modeled after the Trinity.
It's important to remember that God created us in His image, therefore, He must include aspects of the feminine.
