there are many key factors in promoting healthy immune systems. stress can lower your defenses as can getting under 7 hours of sleep a night on a regular basis. genetics plays a role as well...you may have simply inherited a weaker than normal immune system and there's nothing that can be done about this factor but taking good care of yourself always helps.

Part of it is genetics (some people have very strong immune systems, others don't), part of it is diet, part of it is exercise, part of it is sleep (not getting enough sleep will run down your immune system) and part of it is sanitary habits. Problem is you could eat right, get plenty of exercise, get plenty of sleep, and be very diligent about washing your hands and STILL be more prone to getting sick than others just because of your genetic make-up. I'm not knocking doing all the right things, but in the end it's a crap-shoot.

Allergies have nothing to do with that. Different immune systems is one reason.
