no, because Jesus exists only as a tool, used to torture your conscience and subjugate your mind!

I'm afraid holy communion has nothing to do with getting close to Jesus. It is a ceremony Jesus asked us to perform on a regular basis to remember the price he paid on the cross when He formed the New Covenant with God the Father. When you are 'born again' the holy Spirit lives inside you 24/7 regardless of how you feel....you can't get any closer than that.

No and receiving holy communion, one is a child of God abiding and following him and to do all what is commanded. We come closer in our walk as the communion does much more like healing takes place, answered prayers that other wise could not be answered, and many other choice blessings. I believe one can get close to God without communion but to follow him is the ideal purpose once we start that close walk. God instructs one can take communion as oftem as he likes in rememberence of him.

Communion close but you can get closer by walking with him. Communion is done in a church. If you walk with Jesus, it is harder for you are doing it on your own. In Communion you have like minds. I don't know if I showed you what I mean, it is hard to tell your feelings at times. Jesus loved life but gave it up, we are to love life but are willing to give it up for Him.

I disagree. Helping those less fortunate than yourself is closer. Holy Communion benefits only yourself. Considering that the claim is that Jesus sacrificed himself for others, I should think sacrificing of your time for others would be more in line with his reasons for being.

No.

When I was a child attending Catholic school we were told that the Eucharist was the body of Christ. I would not chew it because I was afraid that I would hurt Jesus and it would be a sin. It would stick to the roof of my mouth and I would rub my tongue over it until it dissolved. The nuns never told us what to do with it once it was in our mouths.

When I got older and was able to reason, I couldn't accept it as the body of Christ. I considered to represent the body of Christ and couldn't understand why the nuns didn't say it like that. But I still didn't chew.

I think We'll all be a little closer to Him when we're in heaven, right? And I've never heard of Communion being refered to as Holy. The only things in my opinion that are Holy are God, the Bible, and the temple in the Old Testament.

there is no such thing as Holy Communion written in the bible..If you are a Christian, you will follow Jesus' doctrines, and none of these discuss about holy communion.. even the word Catholic was never mention, even the word limbo.. I only thought, where in the world these things came from?

When Jesus inaugurated this act he was talking to the Christan group who's hope was to live in heaven after their death.

Jesus also said, I have other sheep not of this fold. Therefore anyone with a heavenly hope would partake of the emblems at communion, but the other sheep would not.

Most all religions receive communion. It is just symbolic to taking in the lord. I don't think it's the closest you can get...
