A rabbi on the TV yesterday claimed that they know exactly how old the world is ( i can't remember the exact number) and it is under 6000 years old.Do most Jews really believe this and if so do they really believe that the dinosaurs died out a maximum of 6000 years ago?

Some probably do.The only difference is that instead of Jesus riding a tyrannosaurus it was only Moses who rode it.Anybody else hear the Flintstones theme song?

Yes including Orthodox Jews. A lot of things happened on earth before Adam and Eve appeared.

Many Christians believe that the world is only 6000 years old.

Extremely traditional Jews believe this, yes, but they're relatively few from what I've been able to gather. Most of us have no problem juxtaposing science with Judaism.

Of course they believe in dinosaurs.

More to the point, why do you think dinosaurs died out millions of years ago?

Those that think the dinosaurs died out millions of years ago are perhaps unaware of the large amount of evidence indicating that they lived recently alongside man.

There are many written accounts and depictions of dinosaurs.

Remember that the word dinosaur was invented in 1841. Before that people used names like dragon.
People from all over the world have accounts of dinosaurs: the Chinese who have incorporated it into their lunar calendar, The Welsh who have the dragon in their flag; The account of the Saxon Beowolf; The native american thunderbird; and other stories from many other nations. The Romans even made mosaics of them.

The Bible (book of Job) has description of Leviathan and Behemoth - almost certainly what we would now call dinosaurs.

Furthermore, dinosaur fossils have even been found containing blood cells - hardly 65 million years old.

But check the evidence for yourself - don't by brainwashed by dogmatic evolutionists who don't want us to think for ourselves :)

And as for the age of the earth, perhaps you are unaware that most dating methods indicate youth. Evolutionists don't like people to know about that though :)
Evidence for youth includes
The saltiness of the sea (would be saltier if old)
The decay of earth's magnetic field
The recession of the moon
The existence of short lived comets (Oort cloud has been invented to try and explain them)

Of course they do.
6000 years acquaints to the time that mans history has been written down. Of course we do not know how long Adam lived on his own in the garden of Eden, that is why we can not say that man has lived for 6000 years.

Nothing can accurately determine how old something is. For example, sedimentary rock that is formed by rivers in 10 years can have an inaccurate reading of 3000 years old.
