I am simply puzzled by one thing: that we were praying to the Christian God, and you were praying to the same Christian God but we are defeated and you have won. Is it not partial?

It is not partial. Just tell me one thing: in what language were you praying -- in German? That's where the fault was. God understands only English -- no other language -- and we were praying in English. There is no mystery in it, it is simple.

only if one assumes (1) they actually were praying to the exact same god, and (2) that god exists.

My grandmother was a Christian, and a decent woman who lived her faith rather than preaching about it. It's hard to believe that the god of the fundies is the same one.

Should there be a division or battle between people in the same religion? I would think that would make God very unhappy. If you were fighting then none of you are serving the right God.

God not only hears your prayers but also sees your heart. God only wants what is best for you and many times what you think is the best for you now, actually it is not in the long run.
Always trust God and respect His will.
Some tips, when praying:
1.-Be constant
2.-Be thankful
3.-Be humble.
4.-Have faith.

If we look at some of the great prayers of history, they are unselfish. These prayers ask for things that would please God rather than self. But often our prayers are selfish prayers disguised as unselfish prayers. I believe that some of these prayers are much less noble than they seem. Why should God answer these types of prayers?

I don't understand your question? Why do you think you are defeated?
If this is because you are suffering about something; Jesus said that all of us that suffer for him are the best and to expect suffering.

God hears all prayers. Just because he doesn't answer your prayer first, doesn't mean he won't. You must have faith.
