Luke 11:9
And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.
Christ is cosmic and made no condition on this statement so it should work for everyone.
Do you look at people expecting them to be stupid and find stupid people all around?
Do you look for signs of the end of the world and see them everywhere?
Do you look for work but know it will be hard to find and keep searching in vain?
Do you look for a person to share your life with but know that those you are interested in are flawed and keep being frustrated at what you find?
Could we change our lives by seeking something positive and putting aside our doubts?
Could we change our lives by changing our minds?

Yes doors open when I knock. I receive what I ask, but only if I ask for what I believe to be real. Praying for a winning lottery ticket don’t work for me because it’s not part of my purpose.
The rules as Christ explained them are for ALL people because God makes the rain fall on the righteous and the unrighteous alike. So many elitists think themselves privileged.

If you look heard enough, you will find ugly AND beauty in everything. If you seek beauty you will find it, also if you seek ugly you will find that too.

When you seek, you will find--but many times, it won't be what you were looking for. When you seek with an expectation of what you are going to receive, you are not really open to all of the possibilities--you may get something completely different, but it will still be useful to you if you make it so.
Jesus is quoted in the Gospel of Thomas as saying that when you truly seek you will find, and when you find you will be disturbed, and when you have been thus disturbed, the truth of the world will be clear to you.

Hey there Gnostic,
Yes, I did seek, and I did find. I am still on a "spiritual journey" in understanding myself and others, but don't we always strive to understand others better?
Remember, there is power in prayer. Ask and you shall receive.
The Scriptures are for Man to learn from, understand, grow, and give compassion and understanding to others. So I would say all should benefit from the verses you have quoted.
Blessed Be.
Love, Marianne
EDIT: It is my belief those with a pessimistic attitude were expecting pessimistic answers. So I would say the found what they were seeking also. :-) (((HUGS)))

Always. Not in my timing or in the manner I might expect. Sometimes it does well to not have expectations of what you seek. With expectations we limit what we seek. You are a very spiritual, insightful and knowledgeable person. Peace and healing are your gifts. Past lives we have met and you are ever the same. Amazing.

To answer your question, yes, I do find what i seek. I seek spiritual guidance from a loving higher power most commonly referred to as God.
I use prayers of affirmation, saying thank you for handling the things that i cannot...but in doing so, having the faith that all will be as it should.
I seek for gods will in my life....and for spiritual progress...
i hope you find what it is you seek...
blessings to you and yours

Not so that I may die with out consequence, but so that I may live without regret.

We can totally change our lives by changing our minds. Changing our minds often improves our relationships, our sense of well-being, our level of confidence and our entire outlook.

Yes..If one treads the path of truth, he is bound to find the Truth;
and then if some one traverses the path of evil, Evil will find him.
