if you have this issue, and everyone is all up in arms about who is going to be in the room when you are giving birth, why not just disallow EVERYONE from being in the room at all?

it's rediculous to put yourself under this type of stress, when you are pregnant....

take care.

He is the father of this baby so i think really he has a right to be there. I don't know the circumstances of the breakup or really why your mum is so against him but if you don't feel he deserves to be there when the baby is born then go for your mum, but if it comes between one and the other and it's NOT going to effect your relationship with your mum then i'd let him.

He is the father after all and the birth of your child is an amazing moment! It would be a shame for him to miss it and i'm sure he would regret it the rest of his life and maybe you as well? You both helped to create this life so i think you should both be there when it's brought into the world!

I really hope everything goes well!

Tell mom you would like to have him there, but with the stipulation that if he gets out of line at anytime, he's outa there! And follow thru. You will be able to tell how he's gonna be in the first couple hours of your labor. And of course, momma's gonna stay...period! And when the beautiful baby finally starts to emerge, have him put cold washrags on your head, cuz you'll get hot. And let mom do the honors of holding one leg down, nurse on the other, so she can see baby up close and personal! My hubby and I were there for my daughter's first because dad was a no show, by decision. My hubby did the cold wash cloth thing so he couldn't see daughter's hoo hoo. ha! And I was right there at her feet watching my first grandchild being born, a girl! It's your day mommy! Congrats!!!!! It will be soooooo awesome!!!!!!

Do what works best for you...that's going to be a VERY stressful time for you anyway so if you have them both there, they need to call a truce and have no ill words or bickering.

Its up to you......but I tell ya....its something that you can never change......so make sure its the right decision for you. You say you want them both there...tell them that and that if they cant respect your wishes, you will go another route!

Congrats on the baby and good luck!

He should be there. He will be in your life forever because of this child. You slept with him and now you and your mom have to live with the consequences.
